Wow those are some big, pretty lookin bows! Great job

Sweet! That setup is practically the cutting edge of fly-fishing technologies (I can’t think of a better combo). I'm sure you'll love the outfit. Please review it after you've had it for a while!

BBB nice tie! It's got a real "fishy" look about it.

My Way Of Saying Thanks....

Wow that was awsome! Thanks for taking the time, this site is great -
I think the province should funnel some more money into education. I know a few kids in the Calgary school system and there are really high class sizes and low recourses. Better health care, national parks and sustainable industry development would also be good.
-
I'd maybe recommend policeman’s or Highwood. Both of these spots usually produce the most conservatively for me (probably because I fish them most) and I understand if you only get 1 chance make it worthwhile.
-
I also agree that Calgary’s economy needs to slow down. Holy cow at this rate we'll be two million in 20 years, not to mention the disgusting sprawl that has sprung up in the last few years, those cookie cutter houses are taking over the county side. Albertans have been ripped off from oil royalties since the beginning. It would be nice to take some of that royalty money and put it into a decent education program, healthcare and affordable inner city housing. I doubt that a Royalty increase will mean everything collapse, maybe just those oil executives in their hummers will have a little less cash to frivol away. After all oil companies are making record profits and it's not like this province has record services, schools and hospitals.

There will come a point where the Bow is no longer able to support the massively growing numbers of out city. Unfortunately there is very little the city will do to treat storm sewer water or to reduce the amount of pesticides we use. The bow is a spectacular fishery largely by chance... I hope it stays intact.

Wow amazing report and good to here the river is indeed healthy! Those fall colours are breathtaking.

That's a deadly looking fly...

Thought it would be cool to have a thread with everyone’s winter fishing pictures on it. To bad it's that time of the year again where we're looking at another 5 - 6 moths before next season kick's off again (Nooo summers over!!). O well winter fishing is great and can be lots of fun, unfortunately it's not quite as nice as summer, but on the bright side fishing pressures down! Currentley I'm having computer problems so I can't post photos yet

Sweet Toyotas are great cars. They have the highest reliability ratings of all automotive manufacturers (American cars are the least reliable). Have fun out there! -
LOL

O grow up yourself. Don't like this site then go somewhere else smart ass.

I have to say that what Brent has to say has a point. On the old FFC board I moved from FFA because it got shut down. So I introduced myself here and I got humiliated with what I said on the FFA board by a particular someone. My post in defense was then deleted and then before anyone realized I objected the thread disappeared. This made me a little frustrated, but I figured that the guy was a good (he is) and I ignored it. Sorry to bring this up but I felt that this little injustice might be added to this pointless, rambling thread

Great job getting that garbage I sometimes fish that area too (I think so at least) and always manage a Safeway bag full... Wish I could of made it to the Bow river clean up but it just didn’t work. O well next time, I almost always pick up trash anyway. Sounds like another nice day on the Wood!

Wow! That picture of the moose crossing the river is so cool! Beautiful photography!

Sorry about that Rick. I had no intention to offend you but since when was freedom of speech so frowned upon? I have strong opinion, maybe even wrong ones as I'm not all knowing and like many others on this board simply gave my 2 cents. Some of the things I said in that post where warped and looking back on it a tad bit strong... I will refrain from making opinionative posts in the future for my own safety I sincerely hope you re not thinking homicidal thoughts towards me as "attack the person" is just a tad bit creepy.

I think it’s an out rage that we let the oil companies rape and pillage our province destroying it’s natural beauty and causing sever stress on our community and we get NOTHING for it. Oil companies are making HUGE profits and we still have one of the worst under funded school systems in Canada. Not to mention our parks, or public campground and hospitals. If anything big oil should be paying to make this province a better one while in fact there making it worse. The damage they have done will be a scar for ever and a reminder of what happened when we let money get to our heads and a let bunch of foreigners steal a piece of the pie and leave. Our province will be left poor, and miserable with no oil or real sustainable industry. And the initial occupants will be left to clean up after the hordes that took their money and left.

Wow that’s a big ass cutty! The quality of the photography on this forum is simply amazing, and improving! I am slightly worried about that area as it's getting tons more pressure then it used to get... Every report of poor fishing make me a little concerned as I have personally have found that you know have to get quite always of the beaten path (which is harder to do in that area) in order to have good fishing (like it was 5-6 years ago). Another concern is the amount of garbage I find in the gap, common people how could you litter in a place that pretty! Sorry for the hijack!

Your lack of success was likely do to the bright and clear conditions. Some days on the bow you will get one of those scorchers that simply means poor fishing. In those crystal clear conditions fish sit at the bottom of the pools super paranoid and spooky, especially in fall. Sunny cloudy or cloudy days are my favorite especially while the water is still a tad off colored. Makes for some great fishin!
