  1. I went on the Bow to my favourite park and walk spot to swing some new minnows I made

    How's your rig look?

Use pliers to straighten your worm out giving it a tight bend at the hook gap so no trout get injured when they are starving.

that's called english bait hook. I only use that hook to tie my worm. Never have problem hooking into fish's eye.

  2. You just need to find a Spey rod that is suited for trout waters. My 4 wt Meiser rocks and even 14" trout will give me a run. Not to mention these guys

Exactly. Can't agree with you more. The thing is when you walk into local fly shops, all they want to sell you is a 5 or 6wt spey.

  3. agrees with pokerfish.

Just my 2 cents. Most spey rods are too heavy for the bow. I don't find myself enjoy fishing a 5/6wt spey rod all day. I found a 3/4 switch/spey rod is more than enough for the bow, in turns of nymphing and swinging.

The thing is, most fly shops want to sell you 5/6/7 wt spey rod, I have no idea why.

  4. Didn't read all your guys' junk, but, if you're a hard up for numbers douchebag, by all means, float beads or nymphs. But do it with a centrepin. Cause doing it with a flyrod is pathetic and stupid. If you wanna float fish, use a float rod.

If you want to have a real steelheading experience, swing flies.

He has a point... If you wanna nymph steelhead effectively, then use a centerpin.

  5. Thanks BiggyJ for helping me out last night! One little hiccup is that it still won't allow me to connect with my old network name (really weird as I can set up the network under that name, but it won't allow me to connect)...

    Cheers,

    P

try setup with different network name.

sometimes the mac/pc remember the old ones and just use the old setup, which cause the problem.
