ya. it looks very shallow all the way out. not too sure how you can actually launch boat.

sounds about right, cracking is common on both flowing/still water fishing. Not just SA, but all other brands, pretty much tried most of them. I often replace 2 lines per year. Picked up a sharkskin this year for stillwater, will tell how durable compares to others by the end of year.
btw, if it cracked on the loop, just cut it off and whip finish a new loop.

0. My favorite white fish/sucker fish hole is gone. Have to check other holes closer to downtown in the fall.

i like and use a 11 ft Meiser in a 3 / 4 wt , or 300 to 450 grain , don't need a big stick for these trout
exactly!

Toss it into camp fire. Stay far away tho.

Hi,
I am about to pull the trigger on moby net for using on the boat. Debating between crane or whale. I feel crane is probably big enough for most of trout lakes around Calgary, maybe not big enough for some BC lakes.
Is the whale overkill? Or should I just get whale instead?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

from what I read on BC forum, they don't fight up for their size. http://forum.flybc.ca/index.php?showtopic=43069&hl=Lahontan
Would be interested try out fish on a ladder tho.
-
fighting butt is useless, should be removed from all fly rod to avoid confusion. it doesn't help you fight the fish.
-
LX 3.4, sage one or hardy Zenith. if you guys go bc lake every year, why not choose a 10' rod for the prize.

congrats!

although I have never fished a bobber and will never fish one, I can see both arguments but to call it the "evolution of the fly fisherman" No, my friend evolution is progress. I dont know the full history of the bobber but it has been around probably for a very, very, very long time and to start using a bobber on a fly line would be a step back in evolution or some kind of reverse evolution. The fly line was designed and is designed to cast the fly, when you attach a bobber you might as well be center pinning.
again to each their own
troll more plz. fly line was never designed to cast a wooly bugger, SJW, and etc. It was not designed to cast sink tips and mono tappered leaders. please don't use them.

yet another article by purest of the purist mighty fly fishermen.

and your suggestion is?
a real boat.

i don't see many good reasons to a pontoon. for price of a good pontoon, you might as well as get something else.
-
lots of people do SUP in NW bowness. You should see how easy it is to fall into the water. Fly fishing on that thing? A joke maybe.
-
don't think this gonna make any different on mortality rate anyway, 90% of the flies I found on the bow, other rivers, creeks, and etc have barb on them.

BB Playbook is too small for normal usage. get her a Microsoft surface tablet if she wants to edit word and excel. it has a keyboard too.

If nothing is hatching, just do 700 casts to create your own hatch.
