  1. sounds about right, cracking is common on both flowing/still water fishing. Not just SA, but all other brands, pretty much tried most of them. I often replace 2 lines per year. Picked up a sharkskin this year for stillwater, will tell how durable compares to others by the end of year.

btw, if it cracked on the loop, just cut it off and whip finish a new loop.

  2. Hi,

I am about to pull the trigger on moby net for using on the boat. Debating between crane or whale. I feel crane is probably big enough for most of trout lakes around Calgary, maybe not big enough for some BC lakes.

Is the whale overkill? Or should I just get whale instead?

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Eric

  3. although I have never fished a bobber and will never fish one, I can see both arguments but to call it the "evolution of the fly fisherman" No, my friend evolution is progress. I dont know the full history of the bobber but it has been around probably for a very, very, very long time and to start using a bobber on a fly line would be a step back in evolution or some kind of reverse evolution. The fly line was designed and is designed to cast the fly, when you attach a bobber you might as well be center pinning.

    again to each their own

troll more plz. fly line was never designed to cast a wooly bugger, SJW, and etc. It was not designed to cast sink tips and mono tappered leaders. please don't use them.
