was out north of cochrane last saturday. Hail came down in golf ball size for 15 mins. It was crazist thing I ever seem. on the way back on highway 22, we saw a car got blew away from highway to the field, apparently there was a tornado.

Does anyone have any insight on why the regulation change at Clear lake - 1 fish over 100cm?

 

How is endorsing the killing of females once they are getting to the cusp of trophy potential increase the trophy potential of a lake?

 

Why not a slot size? We fished Clear on the weekend and it was full of small fish, maybe too many? Let the meat hunters keep a couple of those, they taste better anyways. Allow to retain 2 fish 23-27", or something similar. IMO this is now worse than the old reg, now you are forcing the meat fisherman to hold out and kill a big female.

 

Was surprised to see this regulation, it makes no sense to me. Does someone with a fisheries background have an explanation? I must be missing something?

 

you are lucky you can keep one. It should have been catch and release only.

yes, it works. you catch more fish with it. I will never go without one on the lake. I found the most useful feature is the depth scan... other things are just addons.

Looking to pick up some Rio Fluoroflex plus tippet before my trip at the end of the month to Manitoba (and those persnickety Stauffer browns too) but I'm trying to find the stuff for under $14.95 a spool. I've checked ebay and it's pretty similar. Looking probably for a 1x, 3x, and 4x or 5x.

 

Any suggestions for where to get the stuff cheaper? Do you think the stuff is worth the $15 ???

No, not worth $15. Go to basspro, buy the seaguar spool, that will last you 10 years for $10. I haven't had any problem with that seaguar regular line. I don't think the leader material worth much more and make much different.

Hi,

I am learning to tie some streamers using EP (Enrico Puglisi) fibre. I have a question about the eye...

Saw many people epoxy the eyes onto the fly. Is it really secure? I am gonna tie some for pike fishing, and is afraid of eyes falloff very easy. How do epoxy eyes onto the fibre correctly?

I also tried to tie some with aluminum big eye, the only concern I have is that it might be too heavy to cast.

 

There is really not that much information on the web about how to tie these flies. Any input is appreciated.

If you use a Mac, the AVCHD (30 min recording at a time) mode does not play, I have to A) convert the file or set the camera to HD (10 min recording at a time) mode.

The best way of converting any video format on mac is using ffmpeg. BUT, you have to be geeky enough to know how to use it. Something like this will convert you .mts to avi with original quality (no messed up ratio/bit rate).

 

I think you should still try VLC first, I think it will play fine.
