The cost of the Full day will be $200.00 per person, this will include again a free Masterclass DVD, again numbers will be limited to in sure everybody get quality Instruction throughout the full day. While Scott is know around the world for being the 3 times world champion distance Speycaster, these clinic's will not be all about distance casting, Scott runs the most popular Spey clinics in the UK and for Speycasters of all levels. Scott will also have his new range of Spey rods for everybody at the clinic's to try out. If you would like to book a spot for either the evening or the Full day, please send me a PM, if you have never Speycast or been Speycasting for Years......this really is a chance not to be missed. Gordo.

Hi Guys, Just got my hands on a couple of wee ladies rods........ and had great fun trying them out today, got a 10ft 6in for a 6wt a 12ft for a 7 wt and a 11ft for a 7wt, the 10ft 6in and the 11ft have a detachable 4in handle. Will be givin them some stick tomorrow with a couple of buddies at work, i thing the 12ft is more of an 8wt, got some shooting heads to try out too................I hate my job. Even got a Hardy reel for nothing today. Gordo.
  6. Hey Toolman, That weekend we will be in Oregon at the Sandy River Speyclave where Scott will be doing a demo and letting guys try out the new rods he has been working on for around a year now. I will know the date in the next day or two, Just waiting to see if Scott is flying straight from a show in London, or heading home for a few days. Looks like it will have to be a week day and possibly a few hrs in the evening they way the flights are working out. It's a pity Zoom airline went tits up. Gordo.
  7. Hi guys, Fisherking, i did ask about the medium waders, and they might get them in but not for a while, i will ask again on Tuesday. The normal retail price in the UK would be around $275 cnd , but because i got friends in low places they are swinging me a wee deal, not much of a deal but why pay $275.00 if you can get them for $200.00, .............thats the Scottish in me. Gordo.
  8. Hey Toolman, No Dates as yet, but looking at Mid May, still got to work out the detail but hopefully i will have the dates in a week or so, that way i can book the flights ect, just waiting for Scott to make sure he can make it, will post as soon as he says its a go. Gordo.
  9. Hi Guys, Thought i would try and do a little special event in May by bringing over my good buddy Scott Mackenzie for a Speycasting Masterclass on da Bow. Not cast in Stone as yet, but we where talking about it yesterday.... and i think i got him hooked on the idea. Scott for anybody that does'nt know is regarded by most Speycasting experts, as the best speycaster in the world right now, 3 times world champion AAPGAI Instructor ect, ect. I hope to do a speycasting class for a couple of hrs one evening followed by dinner and bullshit , a kinda speycasters meeting...just a chillout chat about Speycasting, great chance to ask about anything Spey. The following day myself and Scott will do a Speycasting clinic , this will be a one off clinic as Scott has to fly out of Calgary to the US and Japan to teach there. Scott will demo and teach with his new range of rods... i say new but he has been working on them for over a year now. Will post as soon as i know its on for sure. Gordo.
  10. Hi Guys, Just spoke with Scierra about the waist waders, http://www.scierra.com/?product=327 and the normal retail price $253.66 CND with shipping of around $40.00. I can get them to Calgary for $200.00 CND shipping included. Right now they have them L XL AND XXL... NO M, there are medium in stock at the moment. They also do a CC3 waist wader with boot attached in cleet or felt sole and this they have in Medium. If you want a pair of these waders or any other Scierra products, reels ,lines ect let me know as i can always fit a few in my bag......save on shipping and postage. I hope to be doing an introduction to Speycasting with Scott Mackenzie one evening on the Bow, and a one day Speycasting clinic. the evening is a free event and everyone is more than welcome to come along and see what Speycasting is all about, single and double- handed, i will post the details in the Spey section. We will be havin dinner and a few beers after, so its a chance to talk fishing...or ask about Speycasting or just bullshit about fishin. Gordo.
  11. Well i guess its cold in Calgary.. a lot of fish that are not handled properly die of stress, it has happened at my work at times when we move fish......the bigger the fish the worse it gets, small fry and fingerlings handle the stress much better. Hope the weather get better soon..... I might fish my 4wt tomorrow, or might have some fun with the 15ft rod...... should anyone care. Gordo. What do Speyghillies really know about Spey Casting? so true.. but its fun learning.
  12. Guys, Will get a price for Scierra waders and post it on Friday, if i can get enough interest i will get a deal on shipping from them, need to order a good few pairs for a sweet deal. Gordo.
  13. More Snow....brrrrrrr, i no like, nice fishy Mr C , hope to see you and the wee boss woman when you get over to my backyard, we can nip up and see Harry and fish da Spey river if you have time. Gordo. Pick up a couple of those guys in Calgary and take them with you.
  14. Hey Toolman, Nothing wrong with the girls in Calgary, and yes they are pretty, but i do feel sorry for them because all the good lookin guys are in Scotland. I wish i had time to come over and show you guys how to do some nymph fishin on the Bow. Scottish style Nymphing, its called guddling. Toolman is true you have mountains and we have little hills, and you do have lovely girls in Canada... well some anyway, but to my amazement i just found out that, and i know you won't believe it.................................. ICE HOCKEY was invented in SCOTLAND. Gordo da Poka.
  15. Ok Guys, Whaaaaats Up, is the weather any better, is anybody out fishing the Bow or other rivers ? , i am sure Toolman will be out no matter the weather, so was just checking to see if Calgary is baskin in sunshine and the fishing are jumping all over the place ? The snow is all gone here, apart from a little on the mountains so its looking good for the Spey for the next while anyway. I really hope i can get back sometime and see all you ladies castin I have a couple of flies i want to try on the Bow that are so deadly i have to tie them on behind a tree . Gordo.
  16. Hey Mr C, No problem... will leave a Spey fish or Two... for Val. , the Tweed show will be the first weekend in May i think, really good fun with all the guys there doing there thing. Good fun if your around Kelso. Gordo.
  17. Hey Max, Scott's rods will be a wee while yet , he is now making sure the cosmetic, and finish are spot on, best of cork, rod rings reel seat.. i have know idea of what they are going to look like finished as yet. Scott Designed a triangular reel seat a few years ago made by Alphs it was copied within weeks , so will be interesting to see the finished Rod, but i know he wont put his name on it until he is 110% happy with it, so thats when they will be ready i guess. Up fishing with him on Wednesday so will take some photo's of the Ness ect. Its getting near time you where heading over, for Salmon on the Spey and for the 30lb Pike on the Fly at Loch an Eilean..(Loch of the Island). I am hoping to sit three qualifications this year on Speycasting Instruction , three here and one in the US, so my time in Calgary this year is going to be limited..... if i make it at all. Gordo.
  18. Hey Max, Will try and get my hands on a carrot stick, a Trout carrot stick and take one with, same for the ZSpey ,Toolman if you have'nt had a go with one before i get there, i might be able to get one on trial for guys to Swing. Gordo ....awake and alive after a wee snooze.
  19. Carrot Stick the way to go.... see nothing wrong with Innovation and modern thinking, , very green in a orange kinda way i dont know if the link i posted worked, carrot Fibres are stronger and lighter than Graphite/carbon, i guess cost is the issue right now with the CARROT. Just got back from Loch Leven and passed part 4 and 5 of My Instructors Course, written and Presentation, if my spelling is WoReSER THAn NORMAL THATS BECAUSE I AM f***ed , this course is killing me, only another 6 weeks to go. Gordo.
  20. Hey what you doing up at this time ? i thought it would be hrs before you read this. Its all good, i know when i get back to Calgary i will have loads of Z Spey rods to try out. Just had a quick look at the two biggest Tackle stores in Europe, and no Z spey rods. Did a search on google thinking it would come up right away.. not there. Nothing wrong with Inovation in fishing and if there wasn't we would all still be casting wooden rods with horse hair line (always had to be hair from a grey mare tail). Looking forward to trying out all the new Z Spey rods on Da Bow. Gordo.
  21. Radical changes are usually met with fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Doubt for sure.. but fear ... it is fishing we are talking about, i have no fear of a rod with a wonky handle. If you like it.... GO AND BUY ONE, or better BUY TWO. Not to cause arguements, well okay to cause a argument, lol, your reasoning Gordy does not make any sense. There are lots of times i dont make sense, but give the Speycasting more than.... what a year or so, that you have been Speycasting, and you will find that what you think is right...... is wrong.
  22. Henrik left Scierra for Zpey something like 6 months ago. I think for the most part these guys just go to the company that'll pay them the most and don't necessarily fish the gear from that company if there aren't any cameras around. Rumour has it Lefty Kreh still fishes Sage rods and not TFO... I noted the interchangeable handles, but honestly to me that says they don't have enough confidence in the Zpey handles so they feel they need to offer the traditional handle as well. Not saying this is the case, but that's just the impression it gives me. I'll still give one a try if the opportunity ever presents itself. Like you i will try one of the new handle ones ...... if some one else buys it... and thats been the problem. Gordo.
  23. He Mr C, Fishing in a nice Highland summer, getting soaked and cut in half with the wind, and then a Whisky.... not ROSEY more of a GLOW in the dark complexion. Gordo in da more Snow.
  24. Hi Guys, Just wanted to add to some of what has been said already, Henrik is one hell of a caster, and one of the best Instructors there is, great knowledge of all things Spey... total Respect. If you had a Spey gathering i am sure you could get one sent for everybody to try, Red Shed would send you one if he has any. The trouble with the first model was that it made you turn your bottom hand, i saw 20 guys trying this out at the CLA and they all said the same thing. Henrik worked for Scierra. Gordo. bhurt i will have a go with your one when you teach me how to catch Trout and how to drink Whisky, but remember i have worked at a Trout Fishery for 22 yrs and live 5 mins from 10 distilleries.
  25. Well we are getting Snow like you guys would be proud of, still snowing, England has ground to a halt.. Ha ha.. and more forecast for the weekend. so no castin for me.. got loads of study work so thats good.. well sorta good. Will be on the Spey no matter what the weather next week. Hey gord when you come over you better bring me some good scottish whiskey then I will show you how to drink, lol Will bring some of the good stuff for sure, not the tourist stuff ,and we will see how you get on bhurt .. see if you can walk the walk. Gordo.
