  1. Hi Guys, Well its time to head back to sunny Scotland for me on Saturday, i have left some copies of Scott's Speycasting Masterclass DVD with Richard, as he is the man now for Scott's DVD and Vac-rac products , you can get a copy same price as i was selling from him at "Richard Chalke" <chalke@gmail.com> or nile creek fly shop. I leave you all with the chance to watch the DVD and cast like a world champion, so when i get back later in the year, i hope to see the long lines cast across the Bow, and hopefully it won't be snowing when i get back. Thanks Gordon.
  2. Hi Guys, I have just recieved an E:mail from a fishing Tackle company in the UK looking for Pro staff in Canada, the company makes a range of Trout rods as well as other fishing related equipment, there Trout rods were voted Trout rods of the year in the UK. I have'nt got all the details as yet, but they are a well respected Company that has been in Business for over 80 years, i will have all the details on Monday , but if anyone would like to apply, send me a PM. I am unable to do the PRO Staff myself, as i am only here ever so often but can possible set thing up before i head back across the water in three weeks time. Thanks Gordon.
  3. Hi Guys, Due to the weather i will have to cancel today, i was really hoping to do something today but the weather is just wild with that wind. I will try and pick another date, but its just hopeless in this weather. Gordon.
  4. Hi Guys, I can't change the dates, but i figure you guys will manage a bit of cold weather. Gordon.
  5. Thats almost Tropical weather, can't do anything about the date i'm here now, i might need another t shirt with that weather, just looked at the forcast and its going to be cold, but no high winds. Gordon.
  6. Hey Mr Island Guy, Funny weather everywhere, though i am just leaving for Glasgow airport and it's beautiful. Spoke with Harry at Clan, will give you a call when i get over the pond. Was fishing with Scott a couple of days ago, so got some good news, DVD wise too. Speak to you soon. Just wanted to add, one of the guys has changed his date from the Saturday to the Sunday, so i have one place left for anybody wanting to get into Speycasting available on the Saturday. Gordon.
  7. Hi Headscan, Minus 6 , thats lovely, when i left in January it was minus 30, that was just to much for me, i will keep everybody busy so they don't get cold. Gordon.
  8. I would like to thank chrisD for booking a spot for the Sunday, Saturday is full and only one spot left for the Sunday. Thanks Gordon
  9. This is good stuff, I will be in Calgary in a weeks time and hopefully getting a days fishing on the Bow, if anybody wants to see how you can use a double-handed rod on a small stream, i'm sure myself and Toolman can set something up, if you have'nt tried Dapping on a Lake or Small stream its great fun, nothing to do with casting a long line, so different, and a light double handed rod for nymphing, just perfect. Gordon.
  10. Hi Guys, I will be in Calgary next week to do my Spey clinics, i will be bringing 4 Sharpe's of Aberdeen Wading Staff's with me, (same as silver doctors), because of the weight i can only bring 4. These are the most popular Wading Staff's in the UK, with a good handle grip, weighted foot with rubber stopper and measurement scale on the side and safety strap, these are one piece. The cost would be $110.00 for each of the Spey staff's, a great safety tool for wading, that sell here in the UK for around $100.00. Gordon.
  11. Hi Guys, Just wanted to give some detail on the Speycasting clinic's i will be hosting on Saturday April the 19th and Sunday the 20th. Saturday the 19th is for guys just getting into Speycasting, i will cover the basic's of Speycasting, which is the building block for all styles of Speycasting. I have , Marc, Dean ,Bhurt , 3wt , Red and a buddies of Alhugers down for the day. Sunday the 20th. Is a More advanced casting clinic, for those who have spent some time Speycasting. So far i have, Alhuger, cheerler, Wet Duck and Maxwell down for the day. If i have missed anyone out please let me know, i will PM everybody this week. As things stand i have two places left for the Sunday, so if you are just getting into Speycasting and can't make the Saturday of have done some Speycasting ,then there is still a couple of places left . I will try to tailor the casting to everyones own pace, that way everyone gets the most out of each day. I would like also to thank, Alhuger for booking a Private one to one lesson on the 18th April, Wtforward for booking the 23rd April, and Knotlikely for booking the 25th of April. I still have a couple of days available for private one to one lesson's. I will host the weekend classes and private casting clinic's at Southland Dog Park , meeting at 9am in the car park. If anybody need anymore info please let me know. See you all soon. Gordon.
  12. Hi ReelLife, It really is 6 to 1 and half a dozen, the little switch rod should be fine, a word of wisdom................................................................... don't go to England, come to God's country, SCOTLAND. Gordon.
  13. I voted for Hullswood, not because i know where that is, but because Toolman showed me some nice spots to fish at Southland dog park , and i don't want you guys catching the fish there before i get over , Where ever you have it have a good weekend, look after Jock's fly fishing show stool and leave the Troot alone. Gordon.
  14. Slightly different in Scotland while Speycasting, when the drift boat is passing, you put down your rod, this way the guy in the boat see's its ok to pass, as he passes you give him a wave and smile as you get ready to throw as many rocks as possible before he's out of range. Only kidding..... but that used to happen on the Spey years ago, i think you guys said it all, common sense and some respect for each other is the way to go. Gordon.
  15. Hi Silverdoctor, Not a problem, i was looking forward to meeting up again, hopefully i will have enough time in Calgary that we can get a cast together before i head to BC, got a School to do on the Vedder as well as some single-handed stuff in the Okanagan. Will catch up and do some fishing on the Bow together. Thanks Gordon.
  16. Hi Guys, With Red booked in that just leave's one spot for Saturday and one for the Sunday, got one day left for Private lessons on a one to one basis, got to keep one or two days left to fishin . Gordon.
  17. Not my favorite line by any means, but if you look on a well known auction site with .co.uk, you will see at times hundreds of Airflow 40 plus lines going for nothing, i dont know where they are all coming from, but you can understand why none of the store want them, you could'nt buy them trade for that price. Gordon.
  18. Thanks Red, Thats your place booked, i'm sure you will enjoy the day and learn what a great way to fish Speycasting is. Looking forward to meeting you, i will shortly post where and when, and sort out the dates for the guys that have booked the private one to one speycasting days. Thanks Red. Gordon.
  19. Hi Red, I will have plenty of Spey rods for the weekend, so no you don't to buy one, i will cover Speycasting with single and Double-handed rods on the Saturday Clinic, so if you need to use one not a problem. Thanks Gordon
  20. Hello MR C, Can't make the Spey Gathering, so look after my bar stool..........no i mean look after Jock's bar stool, i have lots to do and the Spey just opened with fresh fish being caught in stunning weather, it really is beautiful. I have some casting schools to do in BC (not spey) so i will be kicking around Calgary and BC in the Kilt for a while, look out Calgary. Gordon.
  21. Hi Guys, Just want to make sure i dont miss anybody out, if i have please just let me know, its 5 am for me and the Jet lag is still working its magic. 22. Hey Mr Glenbow, There is something wrong with that statement..............Canada has a fly fishing team. , i bet if you check all the team members, they are all from MACLEOD TRAIL , got to be, my great, great uncle worked on the road, if my history is correct he was was there doing some computer stuff around 1890 or summit like that. You did'nt know i was a Scottish History Major, been a while, but i can still remember these details.
  23. now you tell me, when i'm out of Calgary. Abit of History about us Scots. Long, long time ago when Britain had an empire, not a good thing but there was such a time, people where taken from the all over the world and brought to the UK, people from the Pacific Islands, south America and all over Africa, as these people settled here in Scotland , i think if i remember my history it was because we had good TV or something like that. Anyway we are a part of all that people, if fact the first Scot was a coloured chap from Africa called Shaft Macpherson, (he is still on our coins), and i guess thats what make us Scots special, we are good looking because of our history with the Pacific Island, great dancers because of our South Americian history, and will wear a kilt with nothing underneath except what Shaft Macpherson Gave us. One day Canada will have people of different colours in there millions and thing like trains for people, a day to look forward to. Got to go this Jetlag is not fun, but i will be back in coooow tooown, soooon . Gordon.
  24. Ok guys, let the competition begin, starting tomorrow, cause my plane got delayed 23hrs and i'm still in toolmans office, so no more talking, BRING IT ON... eh!

Got to fly off tomorrow, so will see you guys when i get back. Gordon.
