  1. Well, with all this rain I decided to make up another Fly Tying Bench...check out my Blog in my "Member Profile" to have a look.
  2. Very Nice Fish! Nicely Done
  3. I see...and you're proud enough to mention this in public, LOL Kidding. Would you have anything interesting you would want to trade?
  4. Inside Hockey News Vol. 1 No. 1 I have had this Magazine in its frame since 1987 when it first started printing as a magazine. It features Dale Hawerchuck. Any Winnipeg Jets fans out there?
  5. 1 down 3 to go...Wow, did that crowd ever get loud!!!! <--poke--<
  6. 1-0 and Luo is having a good game, lets hope he can keep it up!
  7. Nice...its still pretty cold up there and the snow is still flying every once in a while. Way to brave the elements!
  8. Thanks Dutchie & BBT. I was thankful for the help from Aaron landing that pig.
  9. I noticed that when I downloaded the picture to my computer. It does look like its smiling doesn't it, LOL. Thanks Bob
  10. I do too!!! It's really addictive though. I've still got to head out and fly fish for some of those big Pike, but the Brown cured the cabin fever for a bit. Thanks.
  11. Good point, it took so long for them to eliminate Nashville that it felt like game seven. Real nail biting games. Thanks for the correction, its fixed.
  12. May 9th 2011. The day was almost gone before I finally made it out but the evening weather was spectacular, so I headed down to the Bow River try my luck in the almost Run-off dirty water. 5:15 PM I'm on the water, not many people on the water…Bonus!!! 5:53 PM after an exhausting battle with a large Brown Trout, a new friend - Aaron from down stream walks up and helps me land this fine Bow River Brown, and even takes a picture of me holding onto this fine trout. Thanks for the help Aaron and nice to meet you. ( FFC's posting policy is try not to show the spot). Afterwards I thought I'd see if I could follow up with another fish but then, after realizing that it was close to 7PM I realized that HOLLY CRAP!!! THE GAMES ON…so I head back home just in time for the third period and find that the Cunucklheads are actually winning. It was a good day, in a couple of hours I landed a 22ish Brown, met a fellow FFC member and made a new friend, then watched the Vancouver Canucks win their game six and move onto the next round.
  13. Looks like it was a great trip, very nice!
  14. Most definately for the large hooks I do as Jim M. say and sharpen them with a sharpener that is similar to yours. For the small hooks, I tie my own flies so I just tie on a different hook and I'm back in business.
  15. Nice shots. Those crowsnest rainbows sure have some nice colors. I also have an Olympus Stylus, they're an awesome camera and you're right, there sure are a lot of settings to play with.
  16. I have really enjoyed the TXS reel for the past couple of years and have caught some Large Browns and Bulls on this reel. I've really put it to the test both in the mountains and on the Bow and have had no issues. I'd by another one!
  17. I've had an acoustic guitar that is made of cedar instead of spruce for years and I found I like the sound better because it has a fuller less tinny sound than the spruce made guitars. Although it is all about preference when it comes to sound.
  18. For picking up some easy tunes and techniques Kim Mitchell has guitar lessons on YouTube @ http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...essons&aq=9 But if you want to get good at your rifs and really get good at lead guitar, try to find Guitar Lessons by John Petrucci. This guy can play some amazing lead guitar solo's.
  19. Hey Sun, get a hair dryer from the wife and blow out the Ipod for about 20 minutes but keep it far enough away that it doesn't melt any parts, then let it sit over night. Also if you know how to take the battery out it would be a good idea to take it out and let it dry first. I did this on my old Kodak Camera the last 5 times that I dumped it in the Bow River and it still works fine. Although I now havd to retire the Kodak as Santa got me a new Waterproof Olympus 3000 camera that i'll have to break in the next time I get to the Bow.
  20. A couple of years ago my wife got me battery operated socks and they have been excellent for winter fishing. There is no need for any other socks when you wear these socks and they last about 6 hours till the batteries wear out. I alos use rechargables to keep the cost down.
  21. Nice Rainbow! It must be awesome to fish that lake.
  22. Well said Sun. You must have been there as it happened exactly as you wrote. I hope every fish caught is shown the same respect in the Bow River and elsewhere in Alberta, and everyone follows the Regulations so that we can continue to enjoy this World Class Fishery that I have enjoyed for the last thirty years. There does not seem to be any signs of this fishery being in any trouble, as a matter of fact, I have never experience as many Browns in the Bow river trbs as much as I saw this Summer. It seems that they are expanding their territory.
