  1. Looking at a new camera soon and I see a lot of you have an underwater type. Looking at a Pentax Optio w80 and looking for some opinion from those that own it.

Seems it is loaded with features but the quality of pics is only rated good............. this is with my limited research.

    Thoughts............................

    thanks

  2. $ 700.00 a month for my little guy. He is not there on monday. Thank God my older fella is in grade 1 at my school. You will find rates are high but if there are multiple siblings there is a reduced rate ( sometimes). Mine is a dayhome with 5 other kids, not a daycare.

    Good luck.

  3. Was there and it was a great game.................besides the score. Could have went either way with Kipper the difference in the third. Habs were all over them. The second was all flames. One power play and one goal.

My son enjoyed his first game and the Flames fans were great despite our red jerseys with a DIFFERENT C on the front!!!!!!

Have to beat the nucks tonight.......................... I hope!!!!!

what is with phaneuf and regher........................-6 combined?????

  4. Can't take credit for the pictures...it's nice to have some buddies who know how to use a camera.

Now if I could have gotten you to cross the river to snap a pic of thet 20 plus cutt I landed !!!!!!!

Some great bully fishing for a few hours for sure.

  5. When you heading down Rob? I'll be down around the 24th or so. Maybe we could head to the valley for a day to toss some bombers.

Schooner is good but it will be Oland's Export for me, same thing, it hasn't been here for a few years. You use to be able to get it at the Trap & Gill and the Liquor store beside the Cecil.

August 5-20. Teaching summer school again ( pays for the toys for me and the kids toys). Hope to get out on the Margaree for a few mornings if you want to hook up. Hope for some rain and good beer in between!!!!

  6. Has been a lot of talk lately about Budwieser Lime beer and how hard it is to get. Well, I had the opportunity to try it today and must say it does taste like a light beer with lots of lime in it. Whoopy freakin do!

Come on Harry................................ you know you want a vitamin k. Keith's it is........ Will be home in a few weeks and will get a fill of Schooner for sure. Have not found it out here in at least 5 years. The Highlander on 16th was always good for finding Maritime suds.

  7. Hi Andy

It was a finishing crap job for sure. I was even thinking that there may have been multiple pours and the cement was inconsistent. I am no pro but do know it was their error not mine. They asked if I drove on it after install. Not for 3 weeks. Then they said salt....... I said look at the other driveways next to mine. Were their vehicles not picking up salt in winter??????

The sand blasting was done 4-5 years ago. Thinking I may pick up a can of sealer and see if it will hold the bad spots together for a while but not very optomistic on any long term success.

  8. Thanks Dube

Phoned new Home Warranty and was out of luck as cement is not load bearing anf only covered for 1 year. Going to move a few underground sprinkler lines and mark out another 24" to widen with some concrete blocks for the time being. I need the width for the new trailer. Will look at tearing out the old crap in a few years and form up a new one then.

    Thanks

  9. My driveway has been literally falling apart for a few years now. My home was built 6 years ago this June and I had plenty of issues that I won't bother with explaining now. The original driveway had issues with breaking up and spalling right away. Had Beattie Homes out a few times and they eventually sand blasted and created an exposed aggreagate look. I think this compromised the original driveway more as it was not intended for exposed ag.

A friend of my wife owns a concrete business and says there is not much to do when you get the spalling.

I guess my question is, after all this time is there anything or any route I could try to get this fixed???? Alberta Home Warranty???....... doubt builder will do much unless forced.

Anyone have any experience with this or related issues ???

    Thanks

  10. Rusty, see you soon down here. The 10' 5wt is an awesome chironomiding rod for the lakes in the Cypress Hills areas.

I'll even buy the beer this time. :)

Congrats boys on this!!!!!!! Tim, next time we hook up take one and I will give it a spin. Maybe down the Crow around the 16-17 th????????

Down this weekend with the family and new trailer. Hope to take the boys out for an hour or so.

    Will be in touch.

  11. If you think it's safe to be fishing along the Bow during a thunderstorm, check out the memorial upstream from the confluence with the Highwood on the north side of the river. It's in the big stand of trees at a real nice pool in a bend on the river.

Lightning Hole????? I heard people call it this.

  12. "Just Another Unlicensed Angler" ... Geez Don, I thought you had turned 65 and did not need a license this year!!

The otters will be (are) a big concern if there are no countervailing predators and they are left to populate at will. There are a lot of mink on the Crow and I've seen them with small trout, but I think mergansers eat way more fish on the Crow. It is all one happy balance I guess BUT add a new predator and they can have an impact.

    Clive

I have been seeing a lot of mink on the crow the past 8 years I fished it.

  13. Thank You.

It is great to see there are good people in the world who respect things that are important. We usually hear all the negative.

Being a big Habs fan, the people in Montreal ( the ones booing national anthems and 21 year old goalies) could learn something from this great story.

Somewhat unrelated, so sorry if I offend! Not intented.

  14. Nice looking fly Terry.

Last week, we caught most of our fish on red or black pupa. The rising fish were taking both emergers and adults.

The 2 I landed on dries were fooled with an 18 Par. adams. Low in the film, but the white post helped me see it. The ol parachute adams has always worked well for me on finicky fish!!!

Looking forward to getting down again soon.

  15. walker. I may be going through the same thing with an injury at work. Is all the above (CT scan, MRI, etc) coming up negative and there saying your fine, yet your unable to do daily things and a day on the river is about as close to hell as it is to heaven? If so we are in the same boat man. Ive been a mole at home since dec 10 when I hurt my back. managed to get to the crow a couple weeks back and I think I am still suffering from it..... getting so tired of this daily hell..

    Hawg

All results show there is a problem but it seems the waiting game is how it works with health care. They exhaust, with good reason, all routes before the knife. I am obviously not optomistic at this point. Some days are better than others and fishing does take it's toll. So does putting socks on in the morning some days!!!!

  16. Many of us are in similar shoes (note similar). Should you have lock-back pain (specifically Sacroiliac joint), you may be able to manage it for a while without going under the knife. The lower-torso rotation (while lying on my back) pops my backbone into right position and pain goes away in minutes.

If you want to give it a try, www.kalindra.com/Dontigny/homeprogram.pdf

However take cautions and do not push if you feel additional pain. :(

Let us know how you are doing and if something helped.

Thanks so much. Will keep you posted.

  17. If it actually is a herniated disc, and not just bulging, then surgery is your only option. Decompression would work for a bulging disc, but once the "jelly" inside the disc bursts through the wall lining the disc, it won't do much good. I'm afraid you'd only be wasting your money.

At least, that's how I understand it.

The spine specialist I spoke to says different when I asked the difference ........................ but who knows.

I recall reading the ct scan a year ago and the word bulge was there. Later, the word herniated was used so................................ still in the dark!!!

    thanks
