  1. Do you guys think the Sunrise is a better idea than the 9ft Madison? I was thinking the 9 fter wouldn't catch quite so much wind.
  2. Reds, trouts and the yellow rod. Sounds like there will be some battles. Have faith in the long rod, the prize will be sweeter!
  3. My buddy just tried out his new Skykomish Sunrise (10ft) this weekend. Awesome 'toon, they seem extremely well built. It was a bit of a struggle to row in a serious crosswind though. Why do you want to go fast in a pontoon?
  4. Congrats on catching new species. Looks like paradise
  5. I believe the rules are that we only have to supply Sask with 50% of the water that flows through AB. The rest is needed to mist the fields and evaporate over the southern desert.
  6. Looks like fun. I hear that Thomas and Thomas 11wts don't like Tarpon though
  7. Thanks for the info Harry. I trust your incredible fish-finding skills so there is no need for me to practice casting over dead water. It's a shame, the fish were in such great shape in late September. If you stock it, they will grow... Gregg, PM me the triploid info and I can pass it on to the pond management.
  8. Did you fish and catch some or just see some rises?
  9. It usually really gets going around the long weekend. By then the snow up high starts to melt and we get some good rains.
  10. Nice shots Clive. The snow goose is just acclimating in preparation for global warming.
  11. There is largemouths southwest of Fernie BC. I believe there is smallmouths in Christina lake near Grand Forks BC. I caught a 6 lber on a wooly bugger a few years back. Awesome fight!
  12. Randy I'm glad you are waiting until May to fish. Perhaps we will have a chance to fish before you educate all those rainbows. Just remember us dumb guys from closer to the mountains need a break before all you local pros hammer the lake
  13. I just read on another forum that UFA is buying Wholesale sports. Interesting events happening as Bass Pro makes it's way to Alberta
  14. Thanks Jeff. He was a big bodied bird, but not much of a beard. My partners both got Tom's as well. One was a huge bird with about a 9" beard, the other a jake. The jake actually had a bigger beard than mine. It was only around 5" (I actually didn't bother to measure it since it was so short). It was nice to get out of Alberta and escape this storm you guys got to enjoy. We brought our rods along, but the it was -10C in the morning and most of the lakes are still frozen on the west of the mountains as well.
  15. Beautiful "whistling trout" shot. We have a pic of a friend french kissing a sucker--it's a classic. Can't wait to get it in an important slide show for him.
  16. Got some feathers, wrasselin' was awesome
  17. Years ago there was a number of beaver ponds with rainbows to 20". It was awesome ninja fishing in 2 ft of water. I don't think they get stocked any more though.
  18. The fish are in REALLY deep water, like 2 to 7 feet!
  19. Nice shots. I am going to try and find some dancing turkeys this weekend. Hopefully I can collect some feathers for tying.
  20. Just relax Randy, you really don't NEED to fish yet. I think you should wait until May just so that you are sure you want to go.
  21. Water rights would be from Bob Allen's trout farm on Lott Creek. He has so much ground water flow he dosen't need to transfer water from the Elbow. Therefore he is able to sell his transfer rights to someone else. I bet water is pretty expensive...
  22. They should have called them whites
