  1. I had to pay my buddy $10 to let this boot come in his boat. He closed his eyes when he took the picture
  2. There seems to be a few stillwater experts around here. What is your experience when the fish are keyed into Daphnia. Anyone found a "go to" fly that will convince the fish to change their menu selection? The usual flies don't seem to get them excited for some reason.

I often use DT lines so I tend to use 7/8 reels to fit everything on.
  5. Awesome pic. I'm going to get him to sign my fishing hat next time I see him (now that he's a star on the internet).
  6. Great fish, looks like another Lower Kan monster.

How much backing can you put on the M2 if you use a Double taper 6 line?
  8. Taken from another forum: "Nice pics i was camped there with a bunch of friends all weekend too. i am happy we wernt to loud for you out there, i found a fly rod on the road when i was leaving there PM me if someone lost it, i dident get to fish myself but i took some of the girls out on the lake to see them catch there first fish there was also alot of people catching and still keeping undersized fish out there and useing bait talked to one of the many CO's out there and was told that for whatever reasone they wernt cracking down on it this weekend?" I guess all those new signs are not big and bold enough
  9. One of the large lakes I fish used to get a yearly dose of rotenone to knock back the suckers as they were congregating in the bays to spawn. It has not been done for a while now, but the lake appears to still be quite productive. It's a shame how man has messed up functional systems by adding new species. When we try to fix our mistakes it rarely works out.
  10. You could contact Fish and Wildlife in Red Deer. I don't think the Buck for Wildlife program is running any more, so I am unsure if there are any funds set aside for repairs. A buddy and I built most of those fences and log walls about 20 years ago.
  11. I used to have a 3/4 ton Dodge van with a raised roof that I totally camperized. It had everything and was good for year round camping. Big enough to house 4, small enough to get to some secluded spots. It would be expensive for gas now. Today I have a Safari AWD and a tent trailer. I just wish it had more clearance. Next will be a Tacoma

That is a Red necked grebe. Cool, never saw one before. Thanks for posting. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http:/...=image&cd=2 For Ladystrange: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...l%3Den%26sa%3DN
  13. Do you guys think the Sunrise is a better idea than the 9ft Madison? I was thinking the 9 fter wouldn't catch quite so much wind.
  14. Reds, trouts and the yellow rod. Sounds like there will be some battles. Have faith in the long rod, the prize will be sweeter!
  15. My buddy just tried out his new Skykomish Sunrise (10ft) this weekend. Awesome 'toon, they seem extremely well built. It was a bit of a struggle to row in a serious crosswind though. Why do you want to go fast in a pontoon?
  16. Congrats on catching new species. Looks like paradise
  17. I believe the rules are that we only have to supply Sask with 50% of the water that flows through AB. The rest is needed to mist the fields and evaporate over the southern desert.
  18. Looks like fun. I hear that Thomas and Thomas 11wts don't like Tarpon though
  19. Thanks for the info Harry. I trust your incredible fish-finding skills so there is no need for me to practice casting over dead water. It's a shame, the fish were in such great shape in late September. If you stock it, they will grow... Gregg, PM me the triploid info and I can pass it on to the pond management.
  20. Did you fish and catch some or just see some rises?
  21. Any news of winter kill?
  22. It usually really gets going around the long weekend. By then the snow up high starts to melt and we get some good rains.
  23. Nice shots Clive. The snow goose is just acclimating in preparation for global warming.

    Beautiful chrome!
  25. There is largemouths southwest of Fernie BC. I believe there is smallmouths in Christina lake near Grand Forks BC. I caught a 6 lber on a wooly bugger a few years back. Awesome fight!
