  1. Thanks, I will try to keep that in mind next time!
  2. I was down at the Bow again today. 22X, same as always, not sure why I keep going there, but meh, whatever. Anyway, on a day like today, where it's not as hot, cloudy and a chance of rain, what's the best technique? I tried swinging a bead head, then I tried nymphing, and then swung a streamer. Nothing. I actually saw what was either a brook trout, or a really small rainbow or brown leap clear out of the water (must not have been much more than 6 or 7 inches long), but other than that, I had NO luck at all. When I finally packed it in, I was walking the bank back to the car and saw a nice 15-16" trout dart off away from the bank. So I KNOW there are fish there, I just can't catch em'!
  3. Nice. There are a few things I could use.....net....waders....sweet.
  4. Last two phones that I have had, I have had zero problems with. My last one was an LG6010, likely can't get it anymore as it is a few years old. Now I have a Samsung slider and I absolutely love it. I haven't had any problems with it (knock on wood) so far as battery, bluetooth, camera, or anything. Love it. Highly recommend it. Samsung a806 or something like that. Can't remember.
  5. I concur, that would be a blast! Elbow Springs (the community, not the course) also has a man-made lake. I do believe that there are fish in it. What kind I do not know, but I believe that they allow fishing in it, however I am fairly sure you need to live there, to fish it.
  6. What a view! Elbow Springs Golf course here in town also has a couple of ponds stocked with Rainbows. Never asked about rods though......
  7. I believe cdock has one. I ordered mine from Cabela's. Couldn't pass up that deal.
  8. Buddy in the video needs to clean his fingernails.
  9. So I took a look at it over at Fish Tales this morning and tried it on. Love it. They have it priced at $129.00 retail. Including shipping and exchange through Cabella's, it's only $89.00. It would be crazy to spend an extra $50 just to get it locally wouldn't it? I love Fish Tales, but I love my money more......
  10. I am sooooooo tempted to get the William Joseph Equinox pack. On sale for $59.00 from $89.00. Saves me $20 after shipping, taxes and conversion. Nice.
  11. I saw that on the William Joseph website. I was about to call them. Thanks headscan.
  12. Where'd you pick it up from? How much?
  13. Good one....lol Here's another.... Dear Abby, I've been suspecting for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. There are the usual signs; phone calls that hang up when I answer, evenings out with "the girls" and when I ask who they are she just says, "Some girls from work, you wouldn't know them.". I've tried staying up late to watch when she comes home, but I usually end up falling asleep on the couch before she turns up and miss her. The other night, I decided to hide in the garage and get a good view as she pulls into the drive way. I have a real good spot in the corner where I keep my fishing gear. Late that night, I hunkered down behind my gear, getting a great view of the driveway as she gets dropped of by "the girls". While I was hiding, I had some time to look around and noticed that I had a hairline fracture in the blank of my new fly rod. She never did show up before I fell asleep again and missed another opportunity. So here's my question, can I fix that myself, or should I take it back to the shop that I bought it from? Sincerely, Hooked.
  14. That's kinda what I have been doing to date, but it's a fleece vest that I wear. Gets pretty damn hot I tell ya, but it holds my stuff. I just need something to hold my gear in full time, then I just grab it throw it in the car, and then throw it on when I get to the river. You make some very good points though. Thanks.
  15. I've been thinking about getting a vest as my next purchase for this wonderful sport of fly fishing as I think that it would be easier to carry my crap around in than my tackle kit I won in a hockey tournament some years back. But, I have noticed as well a number of you wear packs instead. Do you find them more comfortable? Easier to use? Better access to your gear? Where would be a better place for me to invest my money?
  16. Yep, I got mine at FishTales.
  17. Dude, you have some sick vids! Nice work if you can get it!
  18. All I was trying to say is if Civic A had a club and Civic B didn't. I'd go with Civic B. Hell, even if Civic A did have a club, and rusted out 84 Pontiac POS didn't, I'd still go with the rusted out POS. If it's easier to steal for a joy ride, then why not. But if neither had a Club, then Civic all the way.
  19. I would tend to agree with that. The whole "path of least resistance" kind of thing.
  20. That's an easy fix. Get your brother to buy you a new computer! In all seriousness, I honestly have no idea. Have your brother buy you a new one then take it to someone who knows what they are doing and have them switch everything over for you.
  21. Not yet, but I am certain that my next pair will be the Oakley FIVES as my Canadian Tire cheapies aren't quite the same.....
  22. Dude, that is some crappy ass luck man. Welcome to Calgary indeed.....
  23. Was actually out this morning on the Bow at 22X. Got skunked, again, but still had a blast. I have yet to invest in waders, and am considering a vest or a pack of some kind to make things easier, and likely less hot than my fleece vest I've been wearing. Not too worried about waders at this point as the water is quite lovely this time of year. I may not even think about those until fall, or even next spring. Not overly worried about catching fish at this point. Just practising my casting for the most part, and technique. Trying not to get too many knots in my leaders.....lol Just goin' out there and having some fun.
