  1. Thanks D-Hurst. You are talking about the price rang I am thinking of for a BBQ. Right now definitely not in the market for a $1000 BBQ. So the $300-$400 Price range is about right. Is there a type of grill that is better to cook on? I noticed some of them have a steel grill while others have a thick black rough grill is there any difference? Thanks Black Ant
  2. Hi Guys, Thanks for the input. I am not sure about the charcoal BBQs. I have not researched enough about this style. I think the food would end up tasting like the charcoal. I have a natural gas BBQ but is over 10 years old now so its time to upgrade. Having room for a Smoker pouch is a great idea. Large cooking space is needed, and maybe a rotisserie is a good feature. Thanks Black Ant
  3. Hi Guys, Wanted to ask if you were to purchase a new BBQ, what are some of the features, brand, and maintance you would look for? Right now I am using a natural gas connection, have propane does not matter to me. Thanks Black Ant
  4. ICloud is only pertains to your own google account that you or previous owner setup. You require login credentials to access ICloud. That be said, the harddrive on your new mac was not reimaged to default factory when it was returned. Hence when they did a "System copy" they did not do a real system copy, just your personal files where transfered and not computer system files from your older mac. The other option was the new mac you got was selected for factory testing, and was not reimaged, but that could be easily discounted if there is any local addresses or phone numbers. This happens on occasions. Oh by the way you are now legaly responsible for the content that pre-existed on your machine. This means if there is any files that are ilegal and someone found that file on your new mac you could face a nasty legal battle. I suggest if it is possible to, redo the file transfers but have your new mac re-imaged first at the store you bought it at. Enjoy your new Mac, Black Ant
  5. With my recent trip there I was very curious and excited to experience what all the hype was about with the Elk. I caught a number of fish so for the most part made the day more enjoyable. Well with all the talk about how awesome the elk is and the scenery on this board, It was very disappointing. If I was to go fishing in the area again I will hit the tribs. Like others have said, there are better places to fish and a lot closer. If you wanted to have some fun next time walk into the fly shops and ask for buzz bombs cause someone said they work great on elk. Black Ant
  6. Thanks guys for the tips. I can not wait to try for the perch and lake white fish. Will be fun targeting another species besides trout, pike and walleye and the occasional fun goldeye
  7. Hi Everyone, I am looking forward to do doing some lake fishing in the near future, and wanted to know about flyfishing techinques/flies for catching Lake White fish and perch. I was thinking of typical chronie fishing with an indi, but wanted to know what other peoples experience was like, and maybe some tips. Thanks Black Ant
  8. Danhunt hit the nail on the head! Get as much sleep as you can and enjoy it. The first week is usually the toughest and very emotionally stressfull for both of you. If you can give your wife about 4 hours of uninterupted sleep as much as possible this will make your life much easier; If that is possible for you both you to achieve. The best adivce I got was "Just remember, you and your wife will adapt to being a parent, and you will survive. " Oh and the occassional date helps a lot grandparents are a great help for this All the best. Black Ant
  9. For me, I hardly got out... Besides working full time, had to let my wife have her down time in the evenings... funny never thought work would be a getaway lol .... Weekends were always a write off... I did go out a couple of times to a few stocked lakes for picnics with the family.... Then 3 years latter another bundle of joy came along... a year later... Went camping with the family at a nice place in K-Country, spent an amazing bonding moment with my son as I watched him catch his first 4 fish on the fly rod! Moments like this are burned forever in your child’s mind and yours; my son now 5 1/2 has his own rod setup, and is forever bugging me to go fishing. Now whenever I want to go fishing I just say it is a boys time out. During this time waiting for your little one to get hooked, be patient, it is hard work, but rewarding. They grow up fast, appreciate every day your bundle of joy, and take lots of pictures every day. Congrats. Black Ant
  10. Fishinglivin, Your best course of action is to talk to an independant mortgage broker that has access to multiple different banks, they will have the answers you are looking for regarding purchasing and selling, as well give you the right financial advice.
  11. No Slack, I had worked at a company over 7 years ago that did not require GPS systems to pin point cell phones. I had help develop the software, and all that was needed was access to the Telco towers, which of course was a very sticky point as the telcos wanted to charge 911 fees to cusotmers instead of offering it for free as was mandated by the CRTC back then. 911 calls could be pinpointed to 2.5', average was around 1meter. As well the actaull address if avialable could be determined. This thread went way off topic, So lets get it back on topic..... Who has used the Magic Jack, and what was their own personal experince with it. Thanks Black Ant
  12. Hi Dutchie, Looks like I did the same thing as you today. Was fishing for some walleye on the fly in a Res south of Calgary. Saw a group of people landing walleye and feleting it right there. After seeing the second walleye being prep up, I called in RAP. Gave as much details, as I was on the phone a 3rd walley was put in the cooler. 12 minutes later, Co came and busted them. Was my first RAP that was successful. Funny thing was there was another group off the rocks that left very quickly as the Co was busy with first group. Have to keep an eye out for these guys. 13. HI Hairygrump, That was a 4wt my son was using. I gave him my 6wt to try out but he does not have the strength to handle that rod yet. 3wt would be great for your daughter. My son talks about that fishing trip to everyone he meets. I think this will be a memory he will never forget. Good luck with your daughter. Black Ant
  14. Had a great time camping out at Cataract Creek this past weekend. Took my 4 year old son fishing to try and get him hooked on flyfishing. Well I took him to a nice run and assisted Charles in casting. Well it did not take long before a eagar brookie took his dry fly, and the fight was on for him. I helped him bring in the first fish where he posed and had a big smile on his face. We let the fish go, and continued casting. Well another brookie makes a nice splash and I let Charles handle this fish by himself. He did really good, 4 brookies to hand, Smile from ear to ear on each fish and great memories that will last his life time. It was a great time to be had. Black Ant
  15. Only 1 year in IT? you had best double check what it takes to get a simlar job after you leave IT for "Money". Recruiters won't help cause you do not have the experience they are comfortable with in selling your resume, you will have to rely on yourself and your networking. I been in IT for 12 years wanting to get out, but that is a different story. My first 4 years in IT was good. Made 1/2 decent money. Then economic down turn in 2001 with Tech sector. I had 4 years of experience, I could not get a job, all companies were wanting 10+ years experience with a wish list a mile long on job posting, and paying crap, cause employers could get away with it. 1 year is not established enough to leave IT for 1 maybe 2 years and go back and easily pickup where you left off. IT changes so fast, your skills will be obsolete by the time you get back. It is not easy finding work in IT, but they are out there. Another point you had forgot. Oil Patch is cyclical <Sp> Right now they are screaming for employees, and paying top dollar, this situtation will change with the price of oil. You could be working for 3-4 years up there making good money, but you could be up there for 6 months and the Company pulls the plug on your project. Happens all the time as Oil and Gas company's watch their profit margins like a hawk and that is all they care about. You have a big adjustment to make, if you do happen to get lucky and find IT. You are at the low end of the pay scale. Going from 6 digits to$50K a year is a big change. Like another poster said, this will be your greatest challange. Best advice I saw on here was sell off some of your toys you do not use. That should a least pay off a considerable portion of your debt. Keep your IT job, get some more experience and change Jobs after you get higher skill sets, your pay will increase a lot as you gain more experience. Top IT people get paid 6 digits. Good luck on your choices, it is a hard decision and become financial educated, and not by the Bank! Black Ant.
  16. One needs to look first before casting a line. And for sure those anglers were in the wrong to snap at you like that. I had a fun experience in that park a couple years ago. Was fishing down stream one evening and there was lots of dogs around playing around in the water 50 m upstream so al was good for me. I was not getting any hits at that point either. A lady throws a ball into the run where I was fishing and as per usual the retrieves the ball. I already saw what was going to happen so I just pulled my line in and wait for the dog to get out. Next cast pulled out an 18" er! Now that is what I call to funny. Black Ant
  17. Step 19: If all else fails, tell her your mother is coming into town on the day you want to go fishing with her... she'll come... trust me. Said that, did it, and it works!
  18. Contact your Realtor if you are happy with them. If they are any good should be able to recommend a couple of good roofing companies, and maybe get you a discount. Being that this is referred business, you are more likely to get better quality service. Checking the BBB is not a bad idea as well, but dose not guarantee anything on the reputation of the company. 19. Brian, I understand where you are coming from. What you need to think about is strategy in how to get things going. Everyone on here sees and reconizes the effects. We complain, some more active people send in scathing letter to their Gov't Rep, and nothing gets done. I say lets document things. most of us carry cameras in our packs, when you are out there, take some vids/pics of the areas, pre season, during and after season, to show the effects. We can all compile our media together to create such a documentary. Then to really put a dammper on quading, target kids, and accidents. Get stats on how many kids die, are injured, show kids ripping up and down the gravle roads without helmts on. You put forward a great documentary showing kids involded you will get a big public out cry on banning such activity, which will also help reduce random camping. Politicans will put forth various regualtions from the public pressure, maybe one could be no one can ride a quad unless they are 16 yrs plus. Oh yes there will be some out cry from the quading comunity, but no arugment can stand up to the saftey of children. Complaining and writing letters dose not do a single thing except keep a politican's admin's assistant assistant employed. You want change, document the accidents involving mostly kids and teens, even adults, then you will get someone who will listen. Just some thoughts. Black Ant
  20. Birchy, Same thing happened to me back in Feb, and I said No more IT. Been in that industry over 11 years and I got tired of making other people rich. I had gotten my Mortgage agent liscence back last March in 2008, now I am working full time as a mortgage agent. Times have been very busy for me since I started in the Realestate industry. Sounds like you got a lot of IT Experience, Go contract right now, many of my IT friends have done this and are doing very well. The work is still there, Employers are just using the economy as an excuse not to give raises, and cut back on benifits and perks. Call your ex employer back and tell them you will go contract if you left on good terms. I bet you will make more money then before. I have seen that happen all to often, and I have personally done that. Lots of IT jobs/contracts out there. Black Ant
  21. Anyone know what the ice conditions are like out there? Was thinking of taking the family out for a short icefishing trip. Thanks Black Ant
  22. Birchy, With all setiments aside, I say why not sue them, they stole your car, costed you money and time, you should be entitled to some kind of compensation from them personally, and get them to pay for all the lawyer fees. They have to take responsibility for their actions, and just going to court is only part of it. I just read in the paper yesterday(on the net somewhere) that a lady in Ontrario who was a drug addict, is clean now for a few years is sueing the drug dealer, and I believe she won her case or is going to win her case. This case is setting the standards now and is allowing victums to get back at the criminals. Black Ant
