  1. After receiving the good news yesterday about opening of the FTR, I would have suspected that there was some bad news waiting to happen. Today my boss officially asked for the costs of canceling my vacation. I only hope that the costs will be too high for him to cancel my vacation, but I think I have about a 10% chance of getting to Alberta this fall. WORK SUCKS SOMETIMES!!!!! Rob
  2. When catching such a beautiful painting, you don't think about the size. At least I don't.
  3. Followed the precip myself daily on the net and I can't find any substantial amount that will allow the area to open up again. For selfish reasons I say keep it closed till the 17th and then open it only for European foreign tourists and perhaps an accompanying FFC-member. In return I will not eat any fish or leave any trace I was in the area.
  4. Congrats on the new catch. Sorry to hear the next four years you are not on the water. Rob
  5. If you take a plastic translucent bead, it will probably just stay in the foam because of the current. As for the legs, you could try some CDC. It will keep the fly from sinking to much and the air trapped in the fibers will give it a translucent shine. I like the idea of the white antron underbody, this too will make it float better then the Hare's ear.
  6. Great to have you back in such a short time. Does the part left does not create any problems or do you have to undergo more surgery later? Can't wait for the next BJOTW. Rob
  7. I placed this already on the FFA-board, but since the board is no longer accessible and knowing Greg really likes this video from 2006: http://www.psychology.unimaas.nl/images/Ju..._compi_2006.wmv And for Dryfly there are also some cows in this video just as in the pictures from this year. Rob
  8. You certainly will see me there, Gordon, I am coming from even further away.
  9. For licenses and other info check http://www.bcfishing.com/regulations/ For the lakes you have to wait for someone else to answer that one.
  10. If that is your first fly, I have to say it is the best first fly I have ever seen. I don't think catching fish with it will be a problem. Rob
  11. Well, five weeks to go in anticipation. My employer thought it was a good idea to add a little suspense in the mix and informed me that they are thinking of cancelling my vacation. So besides the question if the rivers are open when arriving, I now have another thing to worry about. So I keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. I was planning to meet some of you guys and hope that this will still happen. For those who want it I can PM my cell phone number, probably the week before I leave. Rob
  12. Gordon, I think you or Greg have to reschedule. Planned on the 22nd is a FFC-gathering for cleaning up the Bow and some fishing afterwards. Although I did not hear much about it anymore. Rob
  13. 24 years. It all started on a vacation in England. My dad bought the first flyrod in the family and pretty soon it was my turn. Rob

Welkom, Ben. Je hebt het forum dus ook gevonden. Rob
  15. Cataract does not fall in to the closed area, as Taco showed on another board. http://alberta.ca/acn/200708/21873.pdf
  16. It is nice, but pricey. Remember that the license fee is the DAILY fee for any good river.
  17. Toolman has the right answer!
  18. SWAB Yukon Alaska People I would invite to fish with me , would be both my brothers.
  19. Well let's hope it will rain in the next six weeks or you can replace Ontario with Europe.
  20. Try to get above the fish, fish downstream and put a lot of slack in the flyline. That is how I fool difficult trout in shallow water.
  21. Yes, he is looking for bait so give him a call.
  22. Those pike were caught with bait. But no one said we were not allowed to show baitcaught fish And as for Gopherboy, I only take pictures now when the fish is a PR. The big ones can take a little handling well. Otherwise I just admire him/her and then off they go. But most of the time i don't even take a camera with me. Rob
  23. I am not a photographer of fish, I like to store the images in my brain. But still I have a few. Also a couple of some friends when we were fishing together.
  24. I will certainly try that one when I see any other angler on the streams when I am fishing in the Fall. My Dutch is fabulous.
  25. Thanks guys, Just tied the PT Nymphs, so row number one is done. As for the BWO's, for several years now I only use one pattern for them which works like a charm: Better-winged Olives And Greg, I don't need the SJW BAW-style, I just orded some dew-worms which will be waiting for me when I arrive. I figure if I put them on a hook at the end of my flyline, no one will now that I am actually bait-fishing. Keeps me from getting jarred in the head. Was also thinking of using maggots, but don't want them in the fridge. Rob
