Loon's Top Ride ("shake'n Bake") Inquiry

Not the acutal beads of silica gel (yeah can get that from old electronics)... The powder! Or is the powder just ground up beads?! If so, I could always use a mortar and pestle and make my own...

It's been covered in an old thread - don't buy their product because it's a cheap material that's been marked up by 100's of %. Find someone with a pack from an old TV, or try looking in Micheal's for it.

Top Ride contains both a desiccant to dry the fly (the big chunks) and a floatant powder. Their Blue Ribbon product contains just the floatant powder. There are other brands of floatant powder, which you can use to recharge the Top Ride container. Terry

Thanks Terry, but my pref would be not to buy another plastic container and thought it might just come in a small bag or something... Though their Blue Ribbon Powder states on the label that it's silica?!

You can by the stuff in huge bags from a concrete supply company, weighs almost nothing. Don't be such a cheapskate and just buy a new container.
