rehsifylf
Folks, Vote for the US candidate: http://www.iftheworldcouldvote.com/ Don How does this relate to hockey? Interesting that Gerogia and Iraq are the twho most in favour of John - Could it be that the rest of the world's opinion on US involvement in those two countries has been shaped by a left wing media? Flames dominated last night - Hey, if anyone gets a chance - go look at the highlights (they are available on TSN). I could be wrong, and I'm sure Smitty will straighten me out, but almost looked to me like Giordano had a nice clean hit on Muller early on, and, I must be mistaken, but it looked a little bit like Carcillo jumped in to fight Girodano - even though that never happens. And then it looked almost like they each got 5 for fighting and Carcillo two for instigating. Someone please correct me - cause I know that Carcillo 9 minutes and Giordano 0. DonAndersen
rehsifyl, Doesn't have a thing to do with hockey. Hockey is a game - played by kids. The US election gets people killed. And a friend said the same thing. He says "Maybe the whole world is controlled by the left wing media". I countered that the right wing may not be able to type or maybe they really doesn't give a flying f... what the world thinks. Don

Thats why I asked. Sorry Don - but I find it really hard to listen to socialist rhetoric from someone that sells $1500 fishing rods. I just think that a $1500 fly rod is about the best example of capitalist excess that I can think of. Not trying to pick a fight.
Lundvike
Wow shack nasty thread number 2 forming. But looks like the voter turn out from canada may be higher for this one than the canadian election.
DonAndersen
rehsifylf, Yupe, a cane rod takes about 70 hours and $250 of parts. Guess I'll get rich right quick. Don

I'm not suggesting that you are a capitalist or elitist (cleary you are not). Just that most of your clients are a) likely not voting for the left, buying the rods as jewelery. Same guys that buy $500 custom landing nets.
AndyW
Another pointless web poll.
DonAndersen
rehsifylf, Clearly you have no idea of the market. Only 3 rods of the 150 I've built have gone to the wealthy, 3 others to the very well off. Others have been bought by tradesmen, writers, Govt employees, small business owners and on and on. I'd suspect that none of them earn greater than $100,00/yr. And they use them. The rods are not wall hangers. Don And AndyW is right - it's just another pointless web poll. But the results are interesting. Questions like: 1] Why Obama 2] Which countries are voting 3] Computer use within that country. Don

bigbowtrout
I'm moving to the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia. HMMMM wonder how the fishing is over there?
Harps
I find these types of polls really interesting... Take Azerbaijan... 15 votes only 40 for McCain... I know a guy who was working there for an oil company setting up rigs, before the Chinese bought the company. How many of those 15 were from western society? How many Azerbaijanies?? have access to a computer? Same with all the drilling in Nicaragua and oil ops in Venezuela (even though they produce despite US interests). Simmilar thing with Iraq... are the results skewed due to the current occupation... likely, but do they want McCaoin, and long US presence or Obama and a US free world (not excact, but you get my point). And Macedonia... Big vacation spot for westerners? I know 4 soldiers that were there in the past year, 1 British- 3 Canadian. Cool post Don. reevesr1
Interesting. But correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any of these have electoral college votes? I voted from Canada, which is funny to me. It's also VERY funny to me that Canada voted 89% Obama and 11% McCain, and yet just elected a minority conservative gov. Wish I could see Alberta's numbers. Seems you want a Conservative in Canada and not so much in the US. Interesting. What this shows is the utter backlash against the Republican administration, which is more than understandable. It also shows how good a job Obama did of painting McCain as Bush Jr (which he isn't) and how utterly poor McCain's campaign really was, most notably his asinine pick in VP. I think John McCain is a very good man who sold his soul more than a little bit to the conservative wing of the Rep. party in order to get nominated-which guaranteed he had no chance of being elected. I wonder that if the upper reaches of the Republican Party knew they had no chance and let him be thrown to the wolves. It's not like he is one of their own. They can lick their wounds over the next 4 yrs and roll out Sarah (a more polished version of) in 2012. Obama is almost guaranteed to have a poor approval rating as he is going to take over a country in turmoil. If he can turn it around, he'll be elected King in 4 yrs!! The Cons (oops, did I accidentally leave out part of their party name?) only received about 37% of the popular vote in the last election. There are also a lot of other factors that could effect a poll like that. For instance, I just voted on it twice...
