flyangler Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Graham has been ripped off! Some creationist buffoon swiped web photos to put in his "book" to bolster his argument that since insects in amber are the same as living insects that evolution is a myth. A couple of the so-called living insects are Graham's flies, photographed hook and all. Fish don't see the hooks and I guess buffoons don't either. Here's a blog that discusses the whole debacle: http://www.scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/200...s_a_science.php Quote
Taco Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Is he the guy who had a bunch of flies seized by Customs?? They thought they were real "endangered" insects with hooks somehow inserted. Quote
admin Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Is he the guy who had a bunch of flies seized by Customs?? Your thinking of Paul Whillock - http://www.paulwhillock.com/ That's pretty shitty about Grahm's images, but it does boad well for his skills as a realistic tyer. Thanks for the link Sarah, I'll definatly give it a read. Quote
Crowsnest Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 as a watch requires a watchmaker, so does a creation require a Creator. Quote

flyangler Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 It's beyond crappy that some loon stole Graham's photos and tried to claim the bugs were a)real and b)evidence supporting creationism. Boggles the mind. Quote

That would be Paul Whillock, author of Flies as Art. The one with the stunning stone nymph on the cover of Fly Tyer.Paul Whillock Quote
