Bait and switch.

The  logic is "you have to allow harvest"

In the event that the biologist haven't noticed,, the population of Alberta is ever growing. The pressures on our resources are extreme. There is little to no room for more killing.

Thanks for sharing that link. Just completed the survey. What a bizarre approach. If it isn't native to the drainage, it has no value? To squander such a unique resource would be foolish. Might as well rotenone the bow and restock it with native cutties and bulls by extension of their logic.

Another survey as part of the North Central Native Trout recovery, but this one is specifically for the Ram.

Thanks for posting BC.

Just completed the survey. I imagine they put this up after getting a lot of blowback on the original survey re: their proposal to allow harvest on the Ram.

This Ram-specific one is very straightforward, with only 2 maps to look at and without needing to read a huge proposal. I'd encourage everyone to fill out and support C&R on the entirety of the Ram.

The Ram will not support anything but C&R and even C&R is taking its toll but as mentioned in the article government needs to address the bigger issues such as atv use, cattle grazing, mining, forestry and O&G exploration in the Ram and many other Central Alberta rivers/streams. Dave has some pretty good ideas that would make a lot more sense than the proposed approach. It is a special fishery that deserves to be carefully managed. Lots of prime looking rivers in Central are void of fish and it isn't due to angling pressure.
