bigbowtrout Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 After looking at the AMA road report and seeing snow at Chain Lakes http://www.amaroadreports.ca/ I got to thinking about the rivers and how much they have changed since the flood. How will this affect the Ice this year? Looking out my office window at the Bow I notice a lot more gravel where I used to see deep runs. Does anyone forsee any problem areas due to backed up ice and flooding this winter? Quote
reevesr1 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Well aren't you just sunshine and roses today. At least you are thinking right through winter and into next spring! Quote
Tpetey Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Yes, it will be different for sure. Some areas will become more likely to ice jam, others maybe not so much. Give it 5 winters and everyone will know what the river does during the winter again Quote
bigbowtrout Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Well aren't you just sunshine and roses today. At least you are thinking right through winter and into next spring! I'll meet you at Police after work near the bike racks and bring my bike Quote
bigbowtrout Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 How about a mid winter ice jam causing flooding? Quote
Muffin Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 How about a mid winter ice jam causing flooding? Cold weather and flooding can you imagine the Chaos. Make for some neat hockey surfaces though. I really want to play hockey in the lobby of the Bow building. Quote
