I was out on some ricks doing a bit of casting (no fish bighting) and out of teh corner of my eye i noticed a mid sized long rodent skampering around. Larger than a farit with brown fur and a small white patch unter his/her chin.

mink or weasel

all the weasels i see online have a full belly colore this was just a small tuft of white.

Thanks

Jeremy

haha, i know it wasnt a marmot. It was not otter large but had a head size larger than a house cat by a bit with the perky triangle ears. My money is on Mink at this point but it was cool to see down here in the city parks.

i would say it was a mink..where i take my dog[laycock d/park].apparently about 30,35 yrs ago therre were 2 mink farms, these are escapees.i have seen them fishing eating /catching suckers out of the outfalls[nose creek].one farm was right where the dodge dealership is now,the other one was north of the garden center..

Sounds like it was probly a fisher?Mink are only ferret size or smaller with a head the size of a squirrel, same with marten, and weasels are even smaller.Fishers have house cat size heads, bigger than mink, but smaller than otter with a bushy,mink-like tail.

Fisher martin I'll bet. A very rare animal to stumble across but they are around. Have been fortunate enough to see 2 of them.

Ummmm .....fisher or a marten? They are 2 different species.
