bigalcal Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 I bought a few of these at my friends flyshop in Coleman. They are awesome for cutties. The ones I used were all black with white legs. Fly pattern is from Turck of Tarantula fame. http://www.turcktarantula.com/fly_tying/re...s/power_ant.htm Quote
ladystrange Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 holy that is amazing. i had to look for the hook on some of those. try convincing fish and feather that you didnt catch a bug and thread it on to a hook. and here i was going to suggest using glass beads... never mind Quote
OneMoreLastCast Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Since it's that time of year, try tying some of these. Tied them last week and tried them today on the Bow and they worked great. They're fun to tie as well. Just be careful....If you put them in the river, the fish try to eat them. Quote

Why not try some really old flies that are like turn of the century(1900 or so). I have been working on a personal project based on the book "The Practical Angler" by W.C. Stewart Some really interesting stuff there such as eyeless hooks with the leaders tied on as if they were part of the fly. Truly classic stuff that has a great deal of value even today. Quote
