ÜberFly Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 So Deb and I (and our dive club) were participating in a clean up dive last Sunday at Crystal Shores Community Lake in Okotoks... Towards the end of the dive we came upon a hockey back that was attached to a river type anchor... I didn't want to look inside and it was too heavy for me to carry with the rest of the garbage we had collected... The RCMP were called and they intern called the local Fire Dept who showed up yesterday with masks and snorkles!! <--poke--< A buddy was going out tonight with the RCMP to try an locate and recover the bag... I hope it's nothing gruesome (both Deb and I had visions of the "Bay Harbor Butcher"/Dexter or drowned puppies/kittens)... Yikes! I haven't heard anything thus far... P Quote

darrinhurst Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Who the hell randomly fills a hockey bag with rocks and throws it in a pond? Quote
ÜberFly Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 Yeah and attaches an anchor to it, as well!! P Who the hell randomly fills a hockey bag with rocks and throws it in a pond? Quote
CopperJonny Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 sounds fishy ..........theres got to be more to this story .....we've got to think outside the......hockey bag! Every stone deserves nothing less than an honourable attempt at a good skipping , and to be free to tumble as they wish ! Quote
SanJuanWorm Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Probably filled with gobs of cash. RCMP just likely split it up evenly. Quote
bhurt Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I am guessing they are using for a marker of some type. Back home we use to see areas in large bodies of water marked in similar fashion, however we used duffle bags (might be the same as a hockey bag), what they would be using it to mark I do not know, but that is the only logical thing that comes to mind. SanJuanWorm Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Was it a Calgary Flames bag by any chance? Yes it had the FLEURY name on the side. Quote
bigbowtrout Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Dave it looks like the cat is out of the bag. Quote
LynnF Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Dave it looks like the cat is out of the bag. Not a good idea to mention cats, bags, rocks and lakes to Dave. You're giving him ideas. Ideas he's probably already had anyways. Quote
bhurt Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Hmmmmm what can I throw in a bag and throw in the irver, I will have to give that some thought. Quote
