CanuckCamper Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I've taken my DSLR in the boat in a Pelican case but I'd like to take it with me when wading but I don't want to lug around the pelican case. I'm interested in hearing what others do. Thanks in advance. CC Quote
Weedy1 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Watertight pack, dry bag from MEC. You can get them in various sizes depending on what you want to haul with you. http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_listing...534374302881200 There is also this product. http://www.dicapac.com/new_eng/02_products/sub06.html I think Vistek sells them although possibly a different brand. jksnijders Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Very carefully. Mine's hit the water on several occasions but water hasn't made it through the bag. Yet. Got a Lowepro pack that works well. Quote
Harps Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Mine is in a small drybag in my pack while wading. But I will carry it around my neck, tucked into my waders on occasion (get insurance on it if you are on the water). Most of my DSLR shots are "scenic" and of other people. No need to have it out in a hurry. Fish shots are quick with a waterproof P&S that I keep in a pocket... better for the fish and safer for my gear. Quote
Bandi Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 You will see people tucking their dSLR into their wader. It is quick to draw, but will not survive if you fall or wade too deep. This is certainly not my way , but I thought we all have different risk profile. Quote
SilverDoctor Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I leave the Nikon at home and carry a waterproof camera. Less hassle and I don't have to worry. Quote
Mikey Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 The Simms dry fanny chest/fanny pack. The old d3000 survived enough swims in there to be replaced by a d90. Quote
