Wolfie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 just had a product arrive the other day..'clear cure goo', so I thought I'd give it go and came up with this.. ..it is what I call a 'Glass Shrimp'..made entirely with the iridescent sheen of 'polar bear fur'...plus one lonely bit of cock grizzle feather at the head with a soft plastic for legs/antenna/tail, and a product called magic shrimp foil, for the shell back..waiting for comments.. ..by the way..what is sticking out from it's tail is a needle I used to prop it to an angle to get the shell back colours in the pic.. bhurt Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Wolfie, Great tie. Never used srimp patterns on the bow and don't have a clue if it would work in any of our watersheds here in Alberta, but still a very nice tie. You'll have to give me the recieptie later for that one. Quote
tgo Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Fantastic fly, good job! I used to keep these shrimp called "ghost shrimp" or "glass shrimp" in my freshwater aquariums because they were great scavengers and cleaned the gravel real well, your flies look EXACTLY like them! http://www.fishlore.com/profile-ghostshrimp.htm Quote
