Garlicmarshmellow
The fish was caught in an area where they are not stocked. Take a look at the fish and it's features. No wear on fins. Alot of times large brood stock have worn fins from circling/rubbing the tank. The fish is a perfect WILD specimen. Harps, it was caught in your neck of the Alberta woods

fish4trout
Beautiful fish, amazing shape, very jealous. I heard it was hooked bad and bleeding, and that was the reason behind "murdering" it as you people refer to. As for the one poster who is criticizing about egos and the dead fish, well I think you need to review some of your posts. yikes.
fishfreak
If I caught something like that, I would have it mounted in a heartbeat, and show it off to anyone and everyone I can possibly find, and then fire off the pics to all of the fishing magazines out there. I could imagine just how excited this guy must have been when he landed it. Unfortunately, I haven't caught a bow or brown over 22" yet. seanbritt
I find it easy to say what I would do if I was in that situation. However, when the moment actually arrives its a totally different story. Take for example photos. About 1x a month I vow never to take another photo of a fish unless its a goody over 24. Then I hook into a beautiful 22 or something that has magnificent coloring and decide to snap one or two. Congrats to whoever broke the record, and if what folks say on the board is true, you put in your time and were well rewarded!
kungfool
Wow that's one incredible fish. Not a fish keeping guy myself but if I caught the record I think I would bonk/mount it. Who better to have the official no BS record than me?!!
FraserN
Wow! Is that ever a huge Brown trout. My best ever brown trout was caught in Glenmore reservoir. 11.5 pounds. A mere minnow compared to that guy!

monger
Awesome fish! Very cool to get rewarded for years of fishing. However, since this was an accidental by-catch when fishing for pike....you cannot brag or show it off to anyone. After it is finished getting stuffed it must be hidden away and never spoken of again. I'm curious what kind of fight this tank put up?
