The victim, a man in his 30s, was preparing for bow-hunting season south of Grande Prairie Wednesday night when he encountered the bear. He managed to kill the bear with a knife, but suffered serious arm and elbow injuries. The area has been closed off to the public while wildlife officers search for the bear's cubs. jimbow Posted August 21, 2007 Share Posted August 21, 2007 da man or just plain lucky? how on earth do you stick a grizzly bear in a vital spot during a mauling? wow he must be thanking the stars (or someone or something). and i thought a casual friend of mine was lucky as he just had a serious heart attack at the Foothills Hospital while picking up his father in law from gall bladder surgery. lucky to have it in a hospital as apparently without immediate medical attention he would have died.
