Guest Sundancefisher Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Who wants to help net perch? By popular request I can do a Friday night perch removal. Please come to Lake Sundance at 6:30 pm on May 14, 2010 if interested. Address: Sundance Lake Residents Association Ltd. 63 Suncrest Way S.E. Calgary, Alberta. T2X 1T9 Please be there at 6:30 pm. If you can PM me that you are coming...that would be great. Waders will be handy if cold out. also bring a fish bonker or two... Nets will have been in for 6 days. Lots of bigger ones as well. Size seems to be 1-2 inches bigger on average than 2009. We will split the perch up after netting. Cheers Sun Quote

Jeffro Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Don't know about that, I found myself envyin' the tiger fish in one shot......... Coulda been an interesting blooper reel. Ya ever talk to anyone at the zoo or wildlife rehab places Sun? They are usually in need of quality feed. Quote
Guest Sundancefisher Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Coulda been an interesting blooper reel. Ya ever talk to anyone at the zoo or wildlife rehab places Sun? They are usually in need of quality feed. We have thought of many things...always willing to hear something new though... Keep up the ideas. Tiger trout..would love them...can't get a license to stock them...plus no one in Alberta is licensed/or has access to eggs to raise them right now. Zoo...tried to give them tons...they did not like the idea of removing spines prior to feeding. Felt it was too much effort Wildlife rehab. I have connections. Fed them a lot two winters ago. They will call when they need more. Cheers Sun Quote
Guest Sundancefisher Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 fertilizer?? LOL...another controversial subject. Yes...they work well. I like to use the small ones. They disintegrate very quickly when buried a foot under moist soil. Worms love em. Same as the guts and carcasses. Best if you don't have a dog :-) Still...I would always prefer people eat them rather than bury them. Cheers Sun Quote
