bait fishing for suckers is way better then chucking streamers for bulls. Nothing like a pickrel rig worms and bait rod. Sitting there on shore drinking beer and eating hotdogs. Trying not to get mustard on your shirt..........

Does anyone think this might be bad for the fisheries by allowing more fish to head further upstream and spread out. Less spawning in rivers like the sheep and highwood. I guess they cant go much further then the bearspaw or the glenmore res anyways. Maybe this might be better

Now the only thing better then that is your first fish on your own tied fly thtas about as good as it gets.. Congrats maybe you can change up the whitte to a real fish now

Lynnf i got it for a birthday present few years back so i dont know? Thats what did it to me on sunday a big gust of wind down in a canyon. Nothing like standing in front of a deep pool shaking in pain as your trying to rip it out.

I had karma last sunday fishing streamers all day and happen to tie a new one on forgot all about debarbing it well on the first cast wack hooked something thought it was my shirt. But nope there it was a size 4 barbed streamer hook stuck in tha side of my elbow buried right to the bend. Tried to remove it with forceps and not luckily i carry a leather man. was finnally able to rip it out. Needless to say i will never forget to debarb a hook again. Karma i tell you karma

Definatly go with what you can afford. But if you can afford it Z axis sage holy absoulutley amazing. I fish every thing from size 22 dries to size 4 bully streamers and not a single complaint. Also dont cheap out on the reel.

I came up on my bully hole tonight and there was a man and women sitting there. The guy seen me coming quickly reeled in his rod and toke off real quick by the time i was able to wade down to there they were long gone. I suspect they were poaching cause ussally you get a friendly hi at least . I dont even know where they came from as its a big hil on that side Unfortenatly. My question is do you report suspected people to RAP or do you need evidence?

Its not the mud on the outside that counts its the stuff all over your door after getting the 2wd stuck yet again.

I guess what i am trying to say is the highwood is so small there is hardly any places that are over your head. The deepest part is at high river. As far as i am concerend you dont need a rescue boat on the highwood

This was on tuesday at 300 in the afternoon. and about 6 miles upstream of where the cliff jumper died. That was at natures hideaway.

Yeah thanks i didnt know they could make it up the highwood but they sure can. I was standing in the middle of one of my favourite runs close to home when what do i hear. it sounded like a single prop plane so i look all around for it and nothing then i look downstream and here comes there jet boat at full speed. So i move out of the river and watch them race by. The best part was the wash and wake from it brings out the silt and takes visibilty from clear to nothing in a matter of seconds. so i sit and wait have a smoke and let it clear but that was the end of the fishing for the day. when they came back down 15 min latter. I am not sure wether they were rescuing someone but come on do you really need the jet boat on the highwood?

I had simmaliar experiences on highwood too Esleech. but mine were with nymphs. I was swinging golden stones with a second size 18 nymph trailing and nothing for 5 different nymphs. Couldnt figure it out couldnt get anything to hit. I was using 2x tippet to the second so i switched it up to 5x and bam bam bam hits every other cast. only landed 2 little little guys had a nice one on the stone about fifth cast with smaller tippet to the smaller nymph. But the nice cuttie or bow spit it after a couple of jumps and was gone. Then i remembered last year that for the first couple of weeks of july i missed alot of fish . So maybe i am thinking it something to do with the fish. Maybe the fish are not hitting the food as hard as there is lots of food in the water right now.

I received my trout bum diaries dvd the other day. What a incredible show.The filming was superb shows all the action and man do they get into some nice fish. I highly recconmend this movie you wont be dissapointed.

Might of been a few bottles of liquor involved in that fishing trip!

I dont know how many fans are here but just wanted to get the feeling of last nights series finale? I am split 50/50 it was good but could of been way more.

Also thought of something else get ppl who are not on this board out fishing and get them to join maybe some extra points as well. 1 point for getting out with board member 2 point for 1 fish over 20" 3 point for 1 fish over 30" 1 point for 1 fish over 10" 2 point for getting someone out fishing whos not on this board and getting them to join. 5 points for a bull over 30" -5 points for any sucker this could all be per outing.

What about a contest Who can take the most people from this board out fishing. Great way to put a face to many of the names here on the board. Also to spread some good on the water tricks. Easy to judge just make everyone take a pic together and then post it. Let it go till the end of september and tally up the score. Maybe add extra points for fish caught during the trip.

Is there any decent stream or small lake fishing in the vincinity of greater vancouver for a 6 wt fly rod?
