  3. Hi guys, I ve been out today on a stream I wanted to check out since last year. I has a blast! Nice weather, cristal water and rainbows in every hole!! Of course, I had to walk a lot between holes but il well worthed it. A lot of tinies rainbows and a couple of 12/13 inches with all sizes in between. I spent 5 hours on the river and I dont know how many I caught. Really great day. And I only saw tracks of deers...not a single boot tracks. Nobody fished it in a recent time. Anyway, here are few pics of today. I love that sport...

  11. I ve been playing soccer all my life and you have to do that. It s the most dangerous sport I know. You can easily broke your leg just because you play without any kind of protection (except shin pad). Playing other contact sport (except rugby), there is so many protection that you just can focus on your move. In football, you have to trust the others to play by the rules...Otherwise, that can happen : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_BMRyp4QYM So when you think someone is doing something dangerous, you "dive" to show to the ref that the guy is playing dirty, and that it s dangerous. A french player broke twice a leg (2 or 3 years inbetwen). He is playing the worl cup (sub) : Cisse is his name. It can be boring, like Hockey if the game is not a great one. And I think you have to play to get it. At the begining, I didn t like hockey at all (seemed a stupid game with bulls kikcing each others). Since a couple of years, I actually play with friends and it s a great game. I love it and I like to wattch game. As aothers said : my 2 cents...(but at least, I know what I am talking about)
  12. Great pics...I love the one with the opened fly box. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Hi, I bought a 75 24ft motorhome hose roof was leaking. It s a wooden roof though. Solutions from others above is the best one but I did it for cheaper. I bought a buket of sealant designed for RV roof plus a "tape" (at Rona, near the bucket of sealant). You put the "tape" with the sealant, then you apply a coat of sealant; I ve redone all the edges plus vents and since then, it s perfectly water proof (not a pro quality but still efficient). I v done my entire roof for 120$. For vents, should be around 40 bucks (30$/sealant + 10$/tape). Up to you.
  14. Seems you ahd a good time. Really nice fish...
  15. I want one...Do you take order ? Nice job anyway
  16. Really nice...
  17. For me, I wouldn t say it s just to be outside, even if it s enjoyable...Because when I get skunked it sucks!! And I can tell others "it s always nice to get out, enjoying the sun even if you dont catch anything...blabla...", it s not all the truth. I need at least a take...I need to feel the fish fighting for is freedom, to know that I ve been able to find it and fool it... Landing it it s not really optional but not as important. Just to be sure of the size (otherwise, I d just have missed a monster...), colours... The other day, it was so perfect (almost in fact)...The trout (a good size) came from the dark (it was lake fishing on dries) very slowly and a few centimeters before taking it (il lasted forever...), she changed her mind and went back to the dark...I think more about it than a lot of landed fish I did...I can stop thinking "what was wrong ? The fly tying ? The fly choice ? Presentation ? Did the trout see me (I was up on a rock) ? Leader too thick ?..." Just to get at the point that it s not only about catching fish or getting aoutside...It s all about fishing. My point of view anyway.
  18. Rickr, I see your point... I think I have to try...Honestly, when I see guys already outhere nymphing, with that nice weather and all, I m a little (juste a little ?) jaleous and I am almost at the point to try some nymphs... I am also convinced that you catch more fish nymphing. I just dont see the fun yet. But as I said, I still have to tryadn as your friend, maybe I ll never return from the dark side!!! Thanks for you story. I always enjoy reading your posts.
  19. Hi, Before strating, I just want you to know I agree that the most important is to enjoy what your doing, no matter you nymphing or streaming or spinning... In fact, I dont care because what I like here, is that I dont feel "judge" by others when I m fishing. Where I come from (France), it s different, and often come a guy saying what you should be doing to catch fish (or more fish if he sees you re catching some). It s annoying. That being said, I d like to compare fishing here and fishing over there. You would call us elitists because for us, flyfishing is almost exclusively about dries. We have other technics for fishing subsurface. For example, the famous San Juan Worm is unknown on the other side of Atlantic...I dont think a flyfisherman would use that... I think flyfishing was designed to cast small bugs imitation, when other gear couldn t. In that way, casting 9 feet leaders with two huge nymphs doesn t seem the idea of what fly fishing is...Because you can use a spinner rod and a bobber to do that, with the same result. I know that sounds elitist but like others said, only if I care and I judge others. I dont. It s just an opinion of what flyfishing is about, for me. Just to add a cultural dimension to it...Not sure if it was needed though...
  20. Beautiful indeed... First time I read about those 2 different kind of brown...I m going to google that to see some more picture.
  21. To Bhurt : I see what you mean...I caught this one yesterday and on the picture I can see the greenish-brown you re talking about. Now I m sure I won t be mistaken again. All you guys have been very helpfull.
  22. Thank you for ansewers and lessons !!!
  23. Thanks Teck...People was reading but nobody ansewring. I understand now why I was catching so few brown...I was paying attention to the colour, which is obviously wrong... At least, I learned something!!! Thanks again.
  24. Hi guys, I know it will sound silly to a lot of you, but I caught this one this evening and I m not sure if it s a brown or a rainbow. In fact, I was sure it as a rainbow but my friend made me noticed the pale haloes around the spots. But for me, with the shape of the tale and the little black spots (plus the colour even if the pink strip was very pale). Anyway, here is the picture. thanks for answering me even if for most of you it s obvious...
