  6. Hi guys, It s been a while since my last post. I have been trying differents streams, looking for the perfect one. Had such great time, but often you have to walk a lot (and I mean a lot) between the spots...So many streams, and not enough time though... Anyway, yesterday I tried a new stream and had my best day ever in Alberta. A lot of pools and deep (for a stream obviously) runs, pretty close. Fish were hungry for dries and in almost avery deep pool, I caught a 16/17 inches fish. BTW, some were clearly cutt (with those gorgeous colours), others rainbows but some were like rainbows with a pale slash of orange under the jaw : Cuttbow ? I am not familiar with tose trouts... Anyway, great great fishing in those streams, I LOVE ALBERTA !!

    The Morning

What is your point exactly? What difference does that makes ? This sections all about enjoying the pictures... BTW Very nice fish Jeremie. Keep posting, I always enjoy watching your pictures...
  8. Around 1 hour from south Calgary. I found that sometimes it is really easy for kids to catch some fish, and sometimes almost impossible...Anyway, it s a nice place, and trhey stocked it for May long week end. Avoid week-ends...
  9. I buy everything supercheap except feathers. You can always cut with a 4$ pair of bad scisors (fish do not reject a fly because 1 mm of thread is visible...). But I tried cheap hackles, and simply does not work... SAme for hackle pliers, vise (vice ?). Mine is a 10 bucks shitty one. I own it since 4 years (when I started) and never complained about it. Hook is secured. Ok, it doesn t rotate.... Now, it depends if you use nymphs or dries (or both). For dries, you need dubbing (like 15$ a box of mixed colors), deer hair (cheap), hackles (not cheap but essentials. Try a few feather first and if you like it, buy half a saddle in grizzli and one in brown). And just dont be greedy with the hooks...That far more important than any scissor or fancy electrical rotating stuff... That being said, if you enjoy having only the best (as a rod costing 3000$), gorget what I am saying. I know I will receive a bunch of criticism, but honestly, I cant shut my mouth. It does not have to be expensive. I always fish with my own flies. Are they the most beautiful...Hell no!! But I catch fish with it. I even caught fish with my first home made fly. When I look at it, I dont get it. It s so ugly...I evenused my daughter s hair for the tail....And it caught fish. I am not the best flyfisher either, but I am rarely skunked. So try the starter kit, or buy it separatly (better as there is a lot of stuff inside you won t be using anyway). My 2 cents.
  10. Happy for you. Don t know in english but it s a fish of the Gadidés family. Certainly a Pollachius pollachius , but hard to be sure...
  11. Nice... Nothing like trying new water and being successfull! Nice pics BTW...
  12. True, you need time. Sometimes you get nothing but waste of time and a few flies lost in the trees... But when you re rewarded with some fish...Nothing better!!
  13. That s sick man!!! I wouldn t do that...Not sure fishing worth dying... Anyway, spectacular pics.
  14. And the last one.

  20. Hi, I ve been thinking for a while to find some wild cutts. I did it today. I had a good day, finding some fish in really fast water (I wasnt casting at the right spots at the beginning), almost in the heart of the current... Water was cold, and weather turned badly after a couple of hours. That s why I took off, because I was on a bad road and I don t have a 4 wheel drive. Anyway, a good day (even if short), good size fish (all between 7 and 12 in.) and beautiful place. I have to go back there as I didn t explore it as much as I wanted... It s supposed to be native cutts, but I am not able to tell. I kmow the pics dont show a lot of details but is there a way to know ? Anyway, here some pics :
  21. I love the one with the clouds and rain!
