Not sure if this is just a cow town plug but Stream Weavers in Red Deer has BY FAR the best fly tying material selection than any other store in the province and I have visited them all. Best yet he is only 6 blocks from my house.

Online Disclosure Of Fishing Holes
Mudflap replied to Mudflap's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
You bet trout lover come on up; Lets meet and you can tell me were to launch my 20' 350 Outlaw Boat on the Bow, there's a lot of water to cover on what I read here and it will be cool to cruise to each of the spots, heck I could do a few time trials and get my carberators just set nice. I'll post pictures and describe each spot that produced. Hell I'll get a nice topo map mark up the holes and post for all .. or better yet I'll bring the Garman out and set some coords. ................... -
Hello; I must first start by saying I have never fished the Bow and would very much enjoy the experience, I have however been introduced to to several central and southern rivers and creeks and have had some goodmemories. This thread is to address the amount of fishing location information that is being distributed on a international web site. I also have thought on some days on what I consider my home waters "were have alll the people come from??" I watch folks drive from Edmonton to fish the dam just to be skunked and trying to figure out what to do and use on web sites like this. I noticed a thread that was trying to organize a group trip in southern alberta. What are you guys thinking? In a short time you will be standing at your favorite secret spot and will bitch and complain about all the garbage on the bank, the quads, the bait chuckers etc. A tip exchange phone numbers and plan yer trips in private JUST A TIP !!!! Ive seen it happen on the Red Deer and thank god for the flood it has scared a lot of blabber mouths away.

Hope you have figured out what analysis you need, BTEX is likely not a concern, these hydrocarbons are all on the "light" end as you know and will all be volatilized from your "frozen" sample, I assume you were kidding. These guys below know what they are doing, give em a call on the herbacide suite you want and they will lokely ship you the bottles and preservatives ASAP. If I recall from the old days you have 48hrs for BTEX to be in the lab and a little longer for your bug and weed killers. A background or benchmark sample would be a good idea it would give more validity to your results if you end up with a detectable result. http://www.alsglobal.com/Environmental/Lab...iew.aspx?key=10 Maybe I need to start using braided 20lb line on the creek so it doesnt melt. By the way are you the official beaver dam blaster on the creek?

Hello Don; I worked for a company for many years (EBA Engineering) as a enivro. tech and did many, many water samples. Here are a couple watch out fors you may not have considered. 1. You can get the sample bottles sent to you via Grayhound with all the proper preserveatives and ice packs. 2. As suggested earlier in thread contact Enviro Test or AGET they do not need to know were you are sampling 3. You may want to consider having a company do the sampling for you this way your sampling procedure and "chain of custody" will not be open to so much question. 4. You do not need to do a full herbacide analysis suite, by the sounds of it you have picked your target items and the lab will be able to select the analysis you need, just tell them what target herbacides you want. 5. Again Enviro Test or AGAT do not need to know why or where you are sampling Hope this helps

Hello Don; I was fishing a local haunt west of RedDeer the other day and noticed 4 larger pike in what I thought was a "trout" stream. Do pike feed on browns? I caught one small one on a streamer and released it. As I did I had the following running through my head.. Throw him in the willows? as to not eat browns.. What do you suggest? By the way there were a total of 8 trucks parked there on Saturday.......everyone seems to have the itch around RedDeer. Please advise

I tried my new Dan Craft Signature III 9ft 2pc 3wt rod at the dam last weekend and am very impressed. It has very good action and is comparable to action of my xp. The blank was $70 and a coworker did a great job on the assembly. I recommend looking at Dan Craft rods for all of you.

Thank you. I would assume the whites I saw were likely taking emergers off or near the surface.
-
I was at the dam yesterday and was catching whites, there were a few fish rising to small midges. I am wondering how do I fish a small midge? Do they just sink under the surface? Looking at the patterns on this board wouldnt the bead headed ones sink too deep? Or do they just sit under the film. Please advise Thanks

I will be coming from Reddeer to see the exibits. Is the Deerfoot and then onto 22X the best way for us north folks to get through Cow town? Max Bell was easy for us. Thanks in advance

Make sure all those recent "lucky sons a bitches who went to NewZealand" buggers wash their boots.........
-
Thanks Brent; Dip your boots in a 20% bleach solution and wash waders fairly regular. That would do it, I am not sure if I would worry too much about the net.
-
Hello; I likely have the name of this snot incorrect however, a recent Calgary Sun reffered to potential concerns in this province. I think I have seen this on my home water in Reddeer.Sounds like maybe the guides and folks who bring foriegn guests to our waters including the Bow, should have them dip the boots in bleach before they head out..... What do you think?

She's got huge "man hands"

I could not agree more. I have a Dan Craft 3wt on order and look forward to using it. I used a friends 3wt in the crow and it has converted me. Way softer presentation on the size 22's.

You know this may not be the highest percentage place to meet chicks........however fer me if I was lookin and happen to find er here, she d likely be a prize.
