  1. Checked that one out already but they don't sell them.
  2. Hi guys, This summer i motorized our float tubes using a Rhino Cobold 18 lbs thrust motor and a 32ah agm battery. The motor has two speeds and the battery will last about 2 to 3 hours. The battery is 20lbs and that is about as much i can put in the back. I'm looking into li-ion and lifepo4 batteries (12v 50ah) to extend the range. I'm from the Netherlads so i can't bring the batteries on the plane because of restrictions now i'm looking for a dealer in Calgary and i've been searching online but no luck so far. If you know a place that sells li-ion / lifepo4 batteries and has them on stock please let me know. Thanks, Tom
  3. Sounds good Ray, good fishing and good music! Hopefully i can come to Canada earlier in the season in the future for some killer chironomid fishing on Maligne. I'm looking forward to this summer, i bought a small 18 lbs thrust motor for my floattube so i can get out further on the lake. Have fun in Vegas and maybe i'll see you out on Maligne. Greetz, Tom
  4. Hello Ray, You must be looking forward to opening day, especially with the knowledge that the ice will be gone. Must be nice to be able to fish Maligne as soon as it opens. Greetzzz, Tom
  5. I'll be in Jasper from the first until the 28th of july. I'm usually out on Maligne in my floattube so maybe i will run into you.
  6. good to read that you can still rent the canoe on Maligne. I hope you'll have a great trip with good fishing. I'll be fishing there in july again, so some feedback from your trip would be appreciated 😬 Grtzzz
  7. Hello Smitty, I've rented the cedar-strip freighter canoe from Curries a couple of years ago, it's a decent canoe big enough for 3 people. Last year i was out on Maligne and i'm pretty sure it's still out there. Greetz, Tom
  8. Hello Ken, I guess any lake or pond will do that has easy access, getting in and out your bellyboat with the fins on is probably the hardest thing the first couple of times. Once you're on the water all you have to do is kick around and fish. Grtz, Zuggbugg
  9. Thanks guys, There are big rainbows in Patricia aswell, i only managed to catch lakers so i have to target the rainbows next year. Fortunately i'll get to fish in June and July so hopefully the rainbows will be more active. Grtz, Zuggbugg
  10. Yes i believe so, i can't wait to fish Patricia again next year. And i know what i'm tying a lot this winter
  11. The last four weeks i have fished the lakes of Jasper again. We've been comming to Canada and Jasper for thirteen years to visit our friends and fish the lakes and rivers. In all those years i never fished Patricia lake properly so with the other lakes i usually fish being slow probably due to the hot weather i decided to give Patricia a go. Once i was out on the water in my floattube i started fishing deep with all kind of flies under a bobber, after two hours of switching flies and not even a nibble i switched to another rod with a sinking line. My rod was still set up for lake oostvoorne, a lake i fish back here in the Netherlands. The rod is setup with a full sinking line, a 6ft leader and a booby fly. I figured i might aswell try the setup like it was, and am i ever glad that i did. Within 10 minutes i got a hard strike and after a 15 minutes fight i landed a 6lbs lake trout. Convinced i got lucky i started fishing again and within 5 minutes i was fighting a 7lbs laker. That day i caught two more lakers and the four more days i fished there after the first one i caught 28 more lakers with the biggest one being 75 cm and 10 lbs All the fish were caught on one pattern, so that's why i love boobies. Grtz, Zuggbugg
  12. Will do Paul, we'll be over from july 24 until August 21. When we get back i'll let you know how i did. Hopefully i can report a new personal record and wouldn't it be sweet if i catch it on one of my home tied flies Grtzzz Tom
  13. Hello Paul, This summer will be the 13th time for us in Canada. I've fished a lot but never the bow river because we usually head straight into the mountains. Over here i fish for trout aswell in lake Oostvoorne, its brakish water that has mainly rainbow and brown trout in it. There are a lot of different species of fresh water fish one could fly fish for but that's not for me, i'd rather hook a nice trout. Grtzzz, Tom
  14. Ever thought about starting your own webshop? Grtz, Zuggbugg
  15. I'm looking forward to float a couple of lakes in Jasper again this summer, i hope to beat my pr, a 4 lbs rainbow on Maligne lake and a 3lbs rainbow on the Maligne river. By the time we go back home again i hope the water level at Medecine lake will be low enough to give it a go. Since a couple of days i'm also the proud owner of a Sage vxp and i can't wait to fight some nice trout on it Greetzzz Zuggbugg Netherlands
  16. Good work from Parks Canada. http://calgary.ctvnews.ca/fish-caught-up-creek-after-floods-1.1384067
  17. it's exactly the same , the only thing different is the price!!!!! at CT it's a lot more expensive!!, converted you pay 230 can.$ at cabela's + 18 bucks shipping. so in total you can save about 100 bucks if one is thinking of buying it. greetzzzzzzzzz, zuggbugg
  18. i bought the ca pontoon that turns into a backpack and it's good for taking it into lakes that require a short hike. it's good quality for the money. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...n&noImage=0 greetzzzz, zuggbugg
  19. has anyone of you ever tried this?? , i wounder if it's any good. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...n&noImage=0 greetzzzzzz , zuggbugg
  20. you don't wanna make the non resident license too expensive glen as more and more people might go fishing without one!. it's very easy to fish in most places without a license, possible because nobody checks!, in six years i was checked 3 times (@ very public places). i think your (local) gouvernment should enforce a lot more, and make sure that more licenses are sold. that way the revenue will go up without charging more for the license. i always buy a anual license but use it for four weeks only!, not a problem because the money hopefully is spend well. just my two cents.......... greetzzzzzzz tom
  21. that's nuttin over here in the netherlands we pay € 1,50 or ca$ 2,20 a liter and that's right now!. greetzzz zb
  22. hey toolman, i'm from the netherlands and i already had my vacation this year, i was in canmore/jasper for the month of june so unfortunately i have to wait another year again. greetzzzzzz, zuggbugg
  23. i'm over for fishing once a year and i always take out what i take in and 50% of the time i take out more than i took in. it's a shame that people that wanna enjoy the nature don't take better care of it. greetzzzzzzzz zuggbugg
  24. i bought the orvis battenkill mid arbor titanium size 4 in march and i'm very happy with it. it can hold enough backing, the drag can be set ver precise, it's salt water resistant and the weight of the reel gives a nice balance to my rod. greetzzz zuggbugg
  25. be carefull what you wish for! greetz, zuggbugg p.s. happy b-day
