  1. I call BS on this one..... nobody`s wife will let them fish for 9 hrs . Either that or she was gone for the weekend!
  2. Great account of the summer with your nephew, I would guess there are alot of people on here who wish this was themselves when they were a teenager, I know I`m one of them. It almost seems like you got the bigger kick out of mentoring him. If a few more people took the initiative like you did, they wouldnt be glued to the Play Station or hanging out at the 7-11
  3. Fantasic pics, just one question, where did the heli take off from to get there?
  4. I think yak hit it dead on with the comparison of high end golf clubs, does a 700$ driver make you score better? possibly , but I would say that would all depend on the person holding it. I myself can not justify the price tag on some of these rods , and it is not just Sage. Does an 800$ rod catch more fish? It was explained to me very simply by a knowledgable and respected young man off this forum on how to catch fish.... present your line... and present your fly, not once was it mentioned to make sure you have an expensive rod. just one persons opinion.
  5. Time Delay the post until it can be reviewed by one of the mods, if it passes it goes up , if it doesnt we will never see it.
  6. Why is it that every thread on this board gets hi-jacked and turned into a total sh*t show? The novelty of SupremeWeiners omnipotence has come to a grinding hault after only 14 days with that user name, maybe on your next user name you may be able to conduct yourself like an adult.
  7. I think this a still of the Patterson sasquatch video, but again , this is just my opinion
  8. I must say those are some stellar pics from everyone of your trips, I thoroughly enjoyed them.
  9. was there on monday, still snow there but the ice is off and damn is it cold in a belly boat.
  10. Please bear with me as I have not posted pics b4, I also apologise for the quality of the images , a good free cameraman is hard to find. This week work took me to the southeast part of the province and in the evenings leisure time activities are in order. If this works there will be a litle fish porn and other assorted pics
  11. I think you should go for it , as long as you are using a jetboat and take your clients to the confluence in the spring. LMAO
  12. One thing to remember is that is takes about 30 minutes to learn to cast and a lifetime to perfect it.
  13. Not sure if any of you guys and gals are interested in pike on the fly , but I found this vid that may change your mind..... enjoy. http://www.hatches.tv/play.php?vid=371
  14. 8 ft sturgeon = 40+ yrs old and 300+ pounds
  15. As far as I know, that section is closed for the fall spawners for 2 months, btw the fines were for fishing with bait, having over the limit in their possession, and having fish over the slot limit ( 35cm ), they had even docked the tails so it was harder to tell the length but the fish still measured 39 cms. thanks for all the kudos, I just think its really our responsibility to report these things for the future of the watersheds we visit regularily. ty DI
  16. I was out yesterday for a few hrs east of the highway 24 bridge crossing and on my way back to my vehicle I noticed 3 people on the north side of the river sitting along the bank very close to each other and only saw them cast about once every 10 minutes(bait), although my eyesight is not that great at 200 yds I did find it rather strange so I called the R A P number and made my report . I did stay for about another 45 min and no officer and no phone call so I thought oh well at least I reported it. Today at about noon I get a call from the C.O. saying that my suspicions were right, he drove all the way from Drumheller and they were still siting there. Final outcome $1600.00 in fines and 8 charges between the 3 of them. I was equally as stunned when I looked to the west and see someone fishing in the closed area between the weir and highway 24. I guess the system does work. DI
  17. That really is some beautiful country when you get off the beaten path, pic # 4 of your trip is very familiar to me as Jason, the owner of Kootenay Troutfitters took me to that little vista.Did he take you to secret spot #2 about 7k up the trail? BTW nice fish and great pics, hijack complete. DI
  18. Alberta Energy an Savings is an Ont. based company that bought out Epcors contracts when the got out of the retail side of contracting commodities. When de-regulation arose in alberta I signed a gas contract and for 3.89 pr gj when atco was retailing it at about 2.25. For the 1st little while I was paying more but then gas skyrocketed to over 9.00 gj and i was still paying 3.89 all those rebates we got that year i also qualified for infact, I never even payed a gas bill for about 11 months. All they are doing is buying the commodity on the futures market adding a retail mark up and then flogging it to you and I the consumer.contracting commodities is a good idea however the rate must be reasonable , the rates they are offering now are completely out of whack. BTW I did also sign an electrical contract also for 5.9cents a kwh and then it went to over 10 cents a kwh. I never renewed either of those contracts because the rates were way to high to lock in the price. DI
  19. If you dont mind a 2hr drive into western manitoba, this will be very worth your while, try this link. It has rainbows browns and tiger trout. http://www.completeangler.net/manitoba06.html good luck btw lake of the prairies east of yorkton has great walleye and pike fishing east of yorkton 45 min
  20. For just a little background, that video and invention took place in 1995, and yes you were right , all the mfg`s would have to revamp all of their production equipment to produce this style of hook. He owns the patent for this product, but it has never been mass produced. He refers to it as a sharkfin hook and comes out like a completely barbless hook.
  21. I had the pleasure of meeting this interesting fellow this morning. Click on this link and watch the video about his invention. Novel idea for all those LDR`s. http://www.techbrew.com/products/hook.htm
