Yup, I've got the 5wt Snowbee line, single hand spey casts real nice, would probably work well on that Sage.

And Birchy...if you think this is bad you should try Vancouver. I had my trucke broken into three times in the 18 months I lived there. The only thing stolen was my radio but they did damage the lock such that I had to get in through the passenger seat.
Had my car broken into twice in one week in Vancouver, hadn't even gotten around to replacing the window when they busted in the other one, damn crack heads!!
Sucks about the house insurance deductible, too bad they didn't get your 8 other very high end fly rods with matching reels when they stole your truck. And the insurance companies wonder why theres so much insurance fraud.

Cool thanks for all the info guys I am going to look more at the custom Dancraft FT Rod 10ft 3 wt Sounds like a perfect fit..... Luckily we have a builder on the site that by the sounds of it can make me one with a couple little design features I want
by the way CDone how are you making out with that rocket propelled fish seeking missile cork attachment I was asking about? Can I have a thermonuclear option? Or do I have to live South of the border for that?
Guess you're not interested in the EMP function?
Right now in Warshington DC theres some techno FBI weenie having a cow over this thread.

p.s. hope t have that quote to you by Thursday, just waiting on some pricing.

Thats a great offer!! If you need any help with patterns Eric I have lots on hand as well as more than enough material to tie up a few dozen of each.

Nice!! Sure he fell off that one a few times on the Friday night, right Gordon?

Hey Colin,
Putting on the Snowbee XS WF7 Ultra Fast Sink and the Snowbee XS WF7 Floating. They're both 90ft long.
Should have enough, only thing is if you're casting that line on your Beulah you'll be shooting into the backing no problem. Always figure that if a trout can spool me perhaps it deserves to get away in the end. 255 feet is a pretty good run for any fish.

55 yards should be plenty, which line are you putting on it and what is the length? If you're really concerned you could always go to a gel spun backing and you'd get 100yrds on it.

Hey Al good to finally meet you today, we'll have to get out soon, maybe a playdate for the little ones.

Would that be something like having some hoops around here and there that you have to cast into from a certain spot?
I thought it had something to do with a miniature windmill

Let the planning begin!! let me know what you need.

Hey Val - I'm the blonde that bought that wading staff from you. Nice to meet you - and I'm glad you had what I've been looking for for more than a few months!
Hey Lynn, I was the guy that sent you over there.
Glad to hear you guys made it home safe, we were a little worried.

Hey TM, I've got a couple old 9' IM6 blanks here with nice progressive action right to the butt that I think would make a nice small 3wt spey rod, might have to give it a try.

Never met him myself. A lot of the points he makes about DH rods being useful on the Bow mirror the ones Toolman and others here have made. With any luck it might encourage more of the shops in town to increase their selection of Spey gear and learn about it themselves. I don't have any problem ordering stuff from Courtney, but if you just need a polyleader for the next day's fishing it can be a pain....
I hope to have enough on hand here so that doesn't need to be the case, as well we hope to have a shop or two on board with Snowbee products this year.

I have a 12' Snowbee Torridge 6/7/8 for us to play around with at the next spey beach gathering as well as a couple matching Scandinavian lines to go with it.

Snowbee XD line? I can't find it on their website. I take it that it's a single-hand line and not a spey?
Sorry its the XS-ED (extra distance) line.

i finally gotta toss it today on a sage z-axis 5wt and all i can say is the slight difference in shootability is marginal... BUT the noise in the guides... ANNOYING...didnt like it atol...sounded like she is sawing the guides...i know i know it dosnt or is not suppose too
less surface area les friction blah blah blah...but the noise......
What did you think of that Snowbee XD line matched up with the Beulah 7wt? I was able to put it over the fence with one back cast, very sweet line. Should have taken the chance to cast the Sharkskin to see what all the hype is about, maybe tomorrow.

So you changed your mind on Ross's Beulah 5/6?. Theres a few guy that fish the Deer Creek here so they should be able to give you some advice on lines, although I would think that the Beulah Elixir line or a CND GPS 5/6 would work well. Canada Post is a wonderful thing and overseas packages are easy to put together.

I'll drop you an email, and we can meet up, probably the weekend would be best.

Best bet would be to let me have a look at it and assess it from there.

Hi Colin,
Yes female end is cracked - does that mean it's pooched?!
P
You could do a repair, but there's no real guarantee of how long it will last.
It would be fairly easy to remove the old epoxy and thread from the ferrule wrap and re-wrap it, how long of a crack is it? Any repair would have to stop it from moving anymore.
Colin
-
Is the female end cracked at all? If not you might be able to cut the male end a little to allow the female part to fit over better/deeper. (why do I all of a sudden feel so dirty?). If it is a cracked ferrule and depending on how bad a crack, you will probably need a re-wrap/finish of the area to strengthen it up again. If you want me to take a look at it drop me a PM.

The one I have is peach/salmon so quite visible. I would think the white line wouldn't be as visible to the fish looking up as say a florescent orange or yellow.
