  1. Hey man , I apologize if I came off a wee bit aggressive there . My bad . I've been piss'd all day re: Dead Grizz on the tracks , and the brainiacs in power granting a million bucks to figure out what I or you can tell em for free . Banning driving ? GREAT IDEA ! And if thats not the biggest killer ( especially long weekends) then smoking is ( yea lately I've been a smoker too!) How about banning smoking! AND driving ! If they are concerned with our health , why Jack the price ( deterent ? I say BS.) And that goes for gas and tobacco........ I am going to stay off here until I'm a bit more cheery !! and I digress.....on my dark " Tangent Tuesday " . Screaming reels
  2. When one ignores public warning about the river , and stupidly goes into or near hazardous zones and gets themselves in trouble , someone has to go into same "zone" and place themselves in danger to get the DUMBASS out of there . Complex or not about someone trying to tell you if you can or can't , get over it ! If one goes down and gets themself in trouble , he or she's not the only potential victim . I'm not sure if anyone here or anywere is willing to spend the rest of their life , with their head hung low in shame ! I can't speak for the rest , but I know I definately am not!!! Technology and training is Great ! Mother Nature is AWESOME ! And we are no match ! But I'm sure I haven't said anything you already didn't know....
  3. Hey all ! I just came from the pond at the Meadows , and a security guard with blue lights flashing came over to let us know that the closing time is 9pm . More importantly , he mentioned that the pond will be closed for 8-9 weeks ( end of July ) . Due to Tournaments . And with all of the participants , horses , and people . They want to keep the public out , for fishing . And the closure will begin tomorrow morning . Another fella who was there , said he will investigate tomorrow and find out from the head office and let everyone know on here . I had to check it out , I had an itch that I had to scratch one way or another . To the pond I went for the first time . The lil fishies are more than willing to participate . 4 in an hr , 12" average and they were rising sporadically . After trying everything else that I could figure , they finally liked my tempting with a dry Caddis ( Elk hair) . And they werent picky . Just have to cast, let it sit still for a few minutes . And wait . Scrappy little guys , and they try to run , and run . Was fun. Looks like it'll be a while before we can go play , again .
  4. Awe man , so sorry to hear about that ! That's friggin' ridiculous . Be nice to get one of those African anti-theft Flame Throwing devices . Hey when we seem 'em post...... roast ! They would be easier to identify !
  5. Hey man , sorry to hear of your loss ! And Mike , thats a great idea ! It's safe to say that our first line of defense , will be to work together as the " Community /family" in which we share our lifestyle ! That's a perfect start , police-ing together ! Power in numbers ! ID decals on vehicles (FFC) may help us recognize a brother/sister's property too . I will operate in this manner , from now on ..........And in doing so , anyone snooping around a launch site/parking area with no business being there . Will have an encounter with a Grizz on two legs !
  6. I hear yah , I get a a wee bit when I my pride may get out . I'm choosing to be humble about it , after all ......it is replacable ! And its definately not worth any life ! Not even those of US , who may be at the end of their rope ! If anything , what these f****rs need is a slap indeed . More importantly some MILITARY ! And I'm talking Infantry , they may learn respect , discipline , and pride themselves . Hows that for rehab , ? a bit more productive than living the life freeloading and working out at our expense , work for it J
  7. It was stolen from my house , I had it out and was gearing up to go out , and set it in my Jeep , when I realized that I had not latched the gate properly . Running to get the gate and close it before the dogs flew out of the house , I had run back in the house for a my waders and boots while I was near and when I returned to my Jeep , it was gone .
  8. My stuff was gone a week ago , merely waited to see if it may pop up , before accepting that it really was stolen. Thought I may have set it somewhere and forgot ... but no , that didn't happen . I'm very sorry to hear of your loss as well . Its too bad ....truthfully , I'm not convinced that they even know what they are grabbing when they do it ! Have they ever cast a fly line....... I pray that the rod will sit in a corner or a garage , and a young person discovers it and develops a passion for the lifestyle . Or maybe the actual thief , themselves have a door opened in there life resulting from having this stick around and they develop a relationship with our planet , like I do...............J
  9. Just a reminder , to watch your gear!! I have had my 9' 6 wt TFO stolen . 2pc w/tube , green , w/black rod . Kind of hooped , and reel. Was a package I picked up at Wholesale Sports while they were still on 58th . Cortland line , If anyone may see it , will you please let me know !? Dr has me off work till post cardioversion , mid June early July ....is time to stand in some water for me . Lucky I have an 8 wt , just be careful guys .....or fun may be over for a while Screaming Reels .........J
  10. And quotes I may have used reference from were solely from the "Blue Ribbon Bow" by Jim Mclennan . It is a great read , and I truly admire the fact that there is a book published on this great river and ideas and facts researched in the creation of this book . Learned from years on it , in it ...and in tune with the conservation of the Bow river . Ooops , my bad , theres another topic for that cheers
  11. Hey guys , may I add this little ditty , i'm currently in the middle of my first reading of what I consider my " Bible " for this river , you know what I mean......I finally and very recently found a copy and just a few pages ago it mentioned how their is(was) " A healthy population of brown trout, whiteys and brookies as far as the confluence with the K. River . Between there and Bearspaw dam ....less productive and appealling ." It mentions how the dams " In this section of river STILL cause severe fluctuations in H20 levels , and water qualities unfavourable for the fish . I haven't been up there . And truth be told , from what I understand , there may actually be cutties , if not cutbows , and maybe the odd ...lunker of a bull anywhere within the river . I`m sure you all propably know that better than I , Haha the most beauty of backgrounds and pools , i can only imagine and please pardon me for actually using any sort of reference material and or quotes . I figure snippets may be fair game as it certainly is out in the public for print , anyhow .....I'm gonna clam it..... may your reels scream
  12. I was in Dougiedale last eve , when a Beauty walked up behind me with her Pup , who wasnt much of a youngin anymore , and I saw that her dog was in a wheelchair.........for dogs. Poor Fella Being an admirer of nearly "All things " with Boobs , I couldnt help but have a chat . I did however mange to NOT say anything stupid involving- Dog in a wheel chair , or "holy crap I hope she has benefits( H&W)" or saving the dog from suffering or any other of my inner most hainus and perverted thoughts , Ha phew! made it Until about a half an hour later......when a nice looking young couple came down there , and by that time a baitfisherman/spincaster had taken up residence about 100m downstream from me...mustve looked like a great spot to all as , EVERYBODY seemed to cluster between my self and Buddywhashisname!! Throwing sticks in the river for the dogs and all. Oh , .....no the lady and her handi'pup had gone home ... Now I'm not an _SS , or at least I try to be as humble as possible . It kind of pissed me off , so I left the water. As I was walking by , buddy throws the stick again and asks " How are you?" Thinking how inconsiderate and unrespectful as this guy was , I game him the " I WAS fine , until someone came and threw there dog in the water I was using !" " You don't own the river !" " Its here for everyone to use !" he said posturing in front of his woman I almost dropped the ____sucker right there , but thought better . I couldnt get the thought of ARE you kidding me?? This has become juvenile ...already . So vibing I got really close to him so he could hear me clearly .. " You're right !! Next time...save yourself some trouble !! And not throw sticks and rocks for your dog , in the same stretch.....!" He agreed ! I kind of feel like I went way too far !! Over riverbed real estate . But I was pissed ! for about 4 minutes Thanks ...had to vent . Ok so what I'm getting at is , I apologize if I was a bit to aggressive , from one Flyman to the rest ...I haven't any desire to make us look bad ! J
