  1. Holla! XXL hoodie and T. and hells ya on the big jedi hoodz and all that shiznatch, cause i got a big dome.
  2. thanks for all the tips guys, especially the twin lakes. as much as i would like to get more of my family into fly fishing so i would have someone to fish with on a regular basis, the reality of it is if they cant catch fish, they lose interest pretty quick and spin fishing might just be the better choice for the youngsters. i will try and post to let you know how things went. steven.
  3. i prefer flowing. i am not a big fan of still water
  4. well it looks like i am getting roped into camping at the campground on crimson lake. while i am not exactly thrilled about the whole idea, i might as well make the best of it. heres where yall come in...can anyone mention a few decent spots to try fishing around there. i know the north sask river is super close but i have never been there and as i will most likely be surrounded by all sorts of family members i would like to actually give them a decent chance to catch a fish. any help on this would be great because as it stands right now, it does not look too promising. steven.
  5. laughing so hard i started chocking, had people come in from the other room to see if i was ok. buttering the floor, thats funny as hell !
  6. 1. Beaver Bank, NS - with my father. first place i ever caught a fish. 2. Labrador 3. New Zealand I would take my cousin or my wife to any of these places.
  7. The WIFE ! She wants to be a part of things so i showed her how to tie a wire worm and she wips them off like she works in a sweat shop. This is the way to get your flies made. Think i will move her on to something a little harder and hopefully next year i will have a whole box full of wife tied flies.
  8. I am sure that a lot of guys might groan if its still open and i am about to bring unwanted attention to it, but i cant get the links to the maps to open so i cant tell....having said that, is the crowsnest still open?
  9. No ones got the hip hop / rap going? a little busta rhymes, eminem, and all that shiznit?
  10. I have read a lot of guys use a dry/dropper combo, usually i have read about a hopper/dropper combo. i recently tried this on the weekend and found that the dry was constantly being pulled under by the current affecting the dropper. is this the norm for this type of fishing? also what length is the dropper as this might have been my problem, dropper too long? steven.
  11. Are you sure it doesnt have any thing to do with glutton for punishment type thing? I was unlucky enough to try out a pair of neos a couple of weeks ago and it was horrible. I walked back the km or so from the hole we were at and i almost walked back bare a**ed, i wanted to take of those damn things so bad. I am sure heat stroke was not far off. Steven.
  12. I have been salmon fishing in Nova Scotia when there are guys lined up like this for over a mile. Any time the water level was low the fish would be forced to hold in pools, guys would come out of the wood work to pound flies at them all day.
  13. Wow, there are some people who have WAY too much time on their hands.
  14. Rick, we are both really glad to hear that Ben is ok. Shows what a true fisherman he is, after he was swept down the river he comments that the two of you ruined the run. Although Jackie probably does not share the same sentiment. Steven.
