  1. I haven't posted many photos since my season really got going, so I thought I would spam some pictures from my last two trips to a hike-in brookie lake. Enjoy! Trip One We got to watch a little bit of grouse courtship. It was pretty neat. Trip Two: What a difference a week can make. Kitty Tracks
  2. Cool shots. That last bully is THICK.
  3. Some seriously wicked pics, dude.
  4. This is correct. If you are in a public place, you have accepted a reasonable expectation of being photographed.
  5. Wicked post, man. It always just keeps getting better and better.
  6. Great photos. I particularly dig the B&W one of the chairs.
  7. I noticed the white edges too. They're a trout, though. A subspecies of rainbow if I'm not mistaken.
  8. I did the hike up to Southfork Lakes last week in search of some goldens. The wind was insane while I was up there, I spent one night up there and got about 2 hours of sleep. Hiked up the first day around 3pm and it took me about 3 hours to get to the 2nd lake. Basically spent all my time trying to get my stove lit so I could eat something. The next morning was still ridiculous windy with pretty insane gusts, but I manage to get a fly out for a couple of hours in between gusts. I was extremely happy to strike gold twice. I also missed a couple more and a relatively large one on the dry. Pictures do not do these fish justice. They are absolutely spectacular. In many ways, with the wind, sore muscles, and lack of sleep it was a miserable experience. However, it also proved that when it comes to chasing gold, it doesn't take much to make you feel truly rich.
  9. Great pics. That macro is awesome.

    A Few More

That deer picture is great. Also, that osprey has a wiiiiicked pose on him.
  11. Some great shots. Very well composed.
  12. I don't believe this bull for a second. Looks too good to be true.
  13. Wiiiicked
  14. I...also like boobies...
  15. Wicked looking fish. I DEFINITELY need to make the hike up there.
  16. Sometimes it's not all about the fish, it's about the fossils. I was exploring this new piece of water and found multiple instance of large sand stone like rocks having tumbled down form the cliff face containing fossilized remnants of shells. Somewhere up on that cliff face is a fossil bed. Here are a few cutts. Always remember, sometimes in life you just have to stop and pick the wild strawberries.
  17. That's a great lightning pic, Muffin. I dig it. The ones that I posted are actually my first ever successes...and they're with my phone.
  18. Some landscapes. Cline River canyon. That log jam is about 8-10 feet above the water. Blackstone River with the supermoon starting to creep its way upwards. Some views of the hike to Allstones Lake. Lightning on the North Raven. Lynx Creek. The first time I've ever been skunked there. It seemed completely devoid of fish. The upper North Saskatchewan River. No dice on the springtime bulls. A grim looking tree. It should be a black metal album cover. 2014 started off with a savage series of skunkings on the North Raven, the North Saskatchewan, Muir Lake, and probably another place or two. It was June before I landed my first fish. Thankfully, I've been doing pretty good since then.
  19. Well, it's been a while since I've posted a bunch of pictures on here, so here's some from my season so far. This first group of flower pics is for BobLobLaw whose flower pictures I've always enjoyed. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, dude. A few of my first ever Lakers. I was really impressed with how strong they are, even when smaller. Very powerful bodies. A Brookie. Browns. More species, other animals, and landscapes forthcoming. Maybe a bit of a personal mission statement as well.

    A Few Recents

Great photos! They are all very well composed. I REALLY like that first one.
  21. Thanks, I dig 'em.
  22. Those are some groovy flowers. What is the first one?
  23. Damn! Great post and pics. Those Yellowstone cutts sure are gorgeous. I had the pleasure of catching some in their native waters last summer. I really need to make a trip up to Egypt and Mummy.
  24. Wicked, thanks. I always find myself taking pictures of flowers on my travels.
  25. Because we have very little real environmental care and next to no enforcement in this country.
