A real fly shop in Prince George? What about Northern Troutfitters haha I went in there over the winter and the guys in there were useless. There is barely anything for rods in there and the guy gave me a 10 min rant on why he hated sharkskin fly line even though he had never cast it or felt it at all lol U ever fish the crooked river system up there?

Anyone selling any Mac's??? I am looking for an older iBook or Macbook just for word stuff and maybe some music.

Buy a Mac and get the software called Parallels. It allows you to install any windows programs onto your mac and run them at the same time as the Mac software. Mac's run with Intel chips now so they can do anything a windows machine can through parallels.
The extra money you spend at th beginning will make up for itself with no viruses and no problems down the road. Plus Future Shop has sales on various macs quite often.

Go get the shadow box itself from micheals they have a whole buttload. When I made mine I used cork to mount the flies on. I just got a thumbtack, the ones with the flat push part, and put that through the cardboard backing into the cork. It held in pretty nicely. You can also get mini wine bottle corks from Micheals.

So when I catch a sweet fish and take a picture to show people I can say:
"See that pink thing in it's mouth?? I tied that fly! Booya!"

I just got in to the Engineering program at U of C on Friday. I am pretty stoked for it
It's for September start. I am going go for Civil Engineering :) :) -
Dr Bulltrout and I hit the crow today and it was a pretty sweet day. Out from about 8:30 till 3:30. DBT got I think 7 and I got 2 but it was a lot of fun.
Here are some pics of the day.
This last one was a monster rainbow that a hooked and DBT had to help me get it in and it wouldn't fit in his net. You can see in the pic he is holding the net and I am trying to grab the fish out for a glamour shot. Unfortunately we were kneeling in the water and kinda on the ice shelf that was behind us lol As DBT had his camera out and I had the fish held up the whole ice shelf broke off and we both fell in the water and the fish went flopping back in the water and DBT dropped his camera in the water haha His camera was waterproof though so we fished it out afterwards. The fish was around 22" to 24" and was just hanging out in the some shallow riffle areas. Biggest trout ever for me! Whoohoo!

Harps you mentioned not being allowed to angle for the stocked carp? Does that include the ones in Henderson? Also I have seen them in golf ponds at Keho Golf Club.
Look like they would be fun to catch!

Went out to Oldman river on the 5th and caught a beauty of a rainbow trout! First fish of the year and biggest trout so far. You can still see the muddler in his mouth on one shot.
Start to a good year!!

Mine is to cast out my whole line on my 5wt TFO. I got a 100 foot tape measure for Xmas so that will help me
I think my line is 105' plus a 8 foot leader hmmmm

On the SA site it talkes about the friction on the guides, heres what it says:
Q. This line has to wear out guides?
A. The real question is - does the Sharkskin™ wear out guides more than a normal line? All lines wear out guides. In our standard laboratory tests we did not notice any wear on the guides. We expected wear to be less since it is the same material with less surface contact area. In fact, we have seen no wear even with about a million cycles on our durability testing equipment. We are continuing long term tests on guide wear of standard lines versus Sharkskin™ lines.

I am unfourtunately only discovered this recently but I am moving out at the end of December. Back down to Lethbridge and I'm sure Shaw Cable has the reigns held a bit tighten down there. Oh well

It isn't Shaw it's just the local cable company called Slave Lake Cable TV. I think it is happening because this company doesn't have complete control over the cable signal and nobody has told them about it yet.
Yes it is just digital cable but it is definitely in HD. The channels are coming in like 74.3 is Discovery HD and 76.1 is TSN HD. So it is working like digital cable but the tuner in the TV is picking up the HD.
You can definitely tell that it is HD not just digital cable. Man is it sweet

I am up in Slave Lake right now and have an HDTV but was to cheap to buy HDTV cable. Recently I scanned my TV channels all the way through and it picked up a whole bunch of HDTV cable. I have only paid for the basic cable but because my TV has an ATSC tuner and picks it up.
So maybe it is worth looking with your cable to see if you get any HDTV channels. It might be because I am in Slave Lake and they don't control their cable completely. Check it out and see what happens, I am getting a $60 HD package for $25 lol
PS: I am watching Hockey Night in Canada in HD and wow is it good! Toronto may look better in high def but they still lose!

You guys were talking about the fly tipping over due to the parachute post. Is there a formula or comparison measurement to how long those parachute posts should be?
Also could you use a foam extendo body? Is it critical you get the tail in there?

Reach cast around a hula hoop and place the fly in another hula hoop at 45 feet! Sounds like fuuun!

The conclave was excellent as well as the dinner. Everyone who was involved did an awesome job!!
