  1. Join Bow River guides Terry Johnson and Dee Chatani this Sunday when they'll talk about what they take with them in their boat bags. Hear about some of their 'go-to patterns' and must-have gear during this informal session. We received great feedback about this seminar format after the Aaron/Jeff discussion in January.   3. This combination seminar from two lake fishing enthusiasts - Wayne Posyluzny and Ken Hutchinson - will focus on techniques for fishing lakes. Wayne will discuss area lakes and fishing leech and minnow patterns. Ken will discuss chironomid techniques. Both men are keen lake anglers with several years of experience. In combination or alone they have a wealth of knowledge. Join them this Sunday when they'll share techniques they use to improve their catch rates on lakes. The presentation begins at 1 p.m. and will last for one to two hours. Chairs are limited. This is Wayne's first lake seminar of the season.   7. Fish Tales is opening for extended hours on Friday and Sunday during the Western Canadian Fly Fishing Exposition this weekend. The shop hours during the show are: Friday, January 28 - 9 a.m. - 9 p.m Saturday, January 29 - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (regular hours) Sunday, January 30 - 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. If you're headed to the show: Norm Norlander's in the Fish Tales booth when he's not in the tying demonstration theater. Terry Johnson's talking about flats fishing in Cuba in the presentation theater on Friday from 3:45 - 4:45 Aaron Caldwell's doing a saltwater tying workshop - Grand Slam Tying - on Saturday from 2:30-4:30 (pre-register) David Blair & Terry Johnson are providing 15-minute free casting sessions for kids throughout the weekend (pre-register.)   8. Join Dan Jackson at Fish Tales Fly Shop this Sunday for discussion focussed on taking better fish photos. Dan's had photos published in the Canadian Fly Fisher and runs hipwader.com. He's an avid fly angler who's fished all over Alberta and Ontario. He's also fished the flats in Cuba, Belize and Guatemala. He's an FFF certified fly casting instructor. Photography is Dan's other passion. He'll share some of his images and invites attendees to bring in their own. Discussion will include ways to enhance example photos. This will be an interactive seminar. Should be interesting.... Fish Tales seminars are free and open to anyone interested in attending. The session will last 1 to 2 hours. We do not have a seminar scheduled for January 30 (Fly Fishing Exposiation) or February 6 (Superbowl).   23. G-Loomis Pro-staffer Rick Whorwood will be in town for the launch of G-Loomis' NRX series. Many of you will recognize Rick from his attendance at past Western Canada Fly Fishing Expo's.
