I was swingin a wet fly on Tues evening on the Bow and got a good strike from a good sized fish. I lifted the rod tip up to set the hook, and after a few good head shakes the fish was off. Now I know...Thanks for the tips guys...

Spare spool with sinking tip is a lot easier to cast than tons of split shot. Or even an 8ft secion of sink tip line attached to your floating line with a loop to loop connection will work well with a 5 or 6 weight.

If heat doesn't work, try spraying a tiny bit of WD-40.
