  1. After 16 years we had to put our cat down awhile back ago,so the house seams a little off if you no what i mean.My wife has said already a few times that shes surprised i haven't come home with a dog yet. When the cat was around i always said i would like a dog when the time comes.I've been around dogs most of my life so i no what I'm getting into.I think the time is close so I'd like to here what other people have for pets.I'm thinking something mid size, i don't want the yappy lap dog, labs are cool but i don't have the space.

So my question, whats a good city type dog thats mid size?

  2. Well theres no doubt that handling a fish removes slime bare handed or gloved.Poly nets are a good example you can see the shine stuck to it after you've released the fish.

My point is what does more damage,a fish tailed say with a wet wool glove or a fish that flops around on the rocks or gets dropped because your hand is so frigging cold you can't even feel the fish.

  3. I've used a glove before.I liked it for bigger fish, you grab it by the tail and it doesn't wiggle away like a bare hand grab does. How many times have you had a fish flop around because you can't get a grip onit? The fish flops around with every failed attempt. With a glove you grab and it stays, remove the hook, done.

I see more crappy nets used then gloves and they probably remove more slime then a glove would.

  4. Awesome looking boat. I imagine it handles great with the size. With a boat smaller like that would you get pushed around more?

My buddy had an old wooden drift boat we fixed up but it was a tank, especially with 3 guys averaging about 250 lbs/person.

Not really sure but with a big guy like me up front it'll blow us around. If the winds that bad then the minncotta rows

  5. Bench build, just using BB ply left over from my first build. Not concerned about weigh as this just gets tossed in the truck before i load the boat on top.

had to lower it a bit as it ended up a little high,

  6. OK i see.The 4x4 should be ok pending how big you make your mortis.

You'll want to set up a jig/stop so all your cuts will turn out the same size/length since theres alot of repeat cuts.A plunge router with a 1/2" bit would be my choice.Sawsall also can doit just not as accurate.Hand cutting/chisel is ok too but power tools are way more fun.

The plan looks solid to me maybe a little more slope on the roof 5,6/12 your plan looks more like 3,4/12

i would do a test joint where your rim boards meet the posts, there might not be much material left after all that joinery.

good luck with it, should look cool with rustic/old wood.

  7. Playing with some bench supports,

This is a 1/4" sheet of foam sucking down a layer of glass on each side,i can then cut out my pieces.

Built a jig to hold the 2 pieces at a 90 while i fillet and tape together.

They were a little long so I cut offf 8" and gave them a test.Pretty strong considering how light they are.
