  1. Maybe Edmonton? come on now. I hope that presumption is based solely on odds due to population and not a xenophobic slur. I drive from Edmonton weekly to fish and actually saw the commotion at poilicemans on Saturday, so I wanna give you the benefit of the doubt....somehow I don't think that's the case though. Care to enlighten?

Just a guess really, but it was influenced by past experiences at Policemans.

  2. Those that know me will understand as I always have to rig something up,I drill a small hole in the ice 9' away from the hole.I have a pole maybe 4' long attached is a lag bolt that screws into the ice on the other end is a rod holder that the cork slides into.Tye on a nymph rig and presto ice fishing with a flyrod!

  3. Pending on its condition .Any soft spots?Do any areas need replacing? My guess is the fir plywood has started to check. This is common.Needs to be sanded and glassed over to protect the ply.

Most wood boats were just oiled,if so then the rest can be just cleaned and re oiled no sanding required.

Maybe a few pics would help.

  4. Yes,on the river I only let out about 15' so no time at all. When I'm lake fishing 50' takes awhile say maybe 2 minutes but who cares I don't pull anymore!I have a 42lb anchor. It comes with a davit so you can mount it right on top,i think you have to use the minn. anchor though for it to work. You have to be able to take the weight off of the winch when not in use or the sheer pin will go ,if you have a heavy anchor.

  5. Well my search has ended!

Meet , 'River' , Came from the city pound, shes about 6 months old and 40lbs.Mix of breeds hard to tell.Webbed feet long tail.Maybe Shepard collie lab??

  6. Tungsten- I have some cane you can buy. I organized a big order a while ago to reduce the bite of shipping charges. I would guess you could get a single culm of tonkin cane in China for less then a dollar, but to get just one to Calgary you are looking at maybe $50-100. If you stop by some time (Marda Loop- Calgary) I can spare one or two for $30 ea. Each one makes about 2 rods.

Well that's a hell of an offer thank you,i have too many projects on the go right now and haven't a slightest clue on what to do with it.

Maybe once winter rolls around. Thanks for all the info.

  7. Well if its just a change in the rating then your good to go.If you have a problem just buy them separate and mount yourself.

If you need help i'm available.

I've been checked before by F/W and they never looked.Lots of jets on the bow with more head HP then the boat is rated for.

One thing you need for sure is a transom saver. You've seen mine it works well.I've watched boats with small motors go over rail tracks and bumpy roads and its hard on the corners where the little triangles are. Most will crack there over time.

  8. The transom rating is based on the torque that the motor will push not the weight. If the transom says 50HP prop rating then your well under.

Mine has a rating of 35HP and I have the 60/40 on it.No problems.

  9. thank you for posting pics. I haven't been down yet to see for myself. But I would never stop on deer foot and take pictures of the river. Just asking for trouble. Use your heads and please don't cause another emergency from your stupidity. Know to many people in first responders that would have to deal with your mistake for just taking pictures.

Had to be there, everyone was doing 40 with lots of people stopped. Was very easy to pull in and leave.

Just because the radio said it was dangerous..well you know. You'd had a harder time getting out of Chinook mall on a Sunday.
