  1. Congrats again.

I was wondering if I missed the summary of flies identifed with the tyers. One thing about this format was I still have no idea who tied what fly.

trust me i wanna post some stuff up on it but with 12 days to go till my funeral..er, i mean wedding, as well as trying to get some fishing and camping in, as well as playing a hell of a lot of ball and work piling up, things are a tad bit busy...will post everything up some time in august/september if that is ok...

  2. Drop them in a tying bag under the vice. Collect it all in a shoe box then when I have enough run them through a coffee grinder to make some great dubbing. thus no waste. Produces some great dubbing. that I use alone or blen with other dubbing.

great idea on the coffee grinder idea... search google

  3. does anyone use these at all?...i bought a couple of packs and have tied up a couple dozen assorted flies for bulls and pike but truth be told, i've never fished a circle hook before...i know you're not supposed to set the hook on these but rather let the fish take it and swim away or continue your regular retrieve and that once hooked, most fish stay hooked as the hook embeds in the corner of the mouth but that's all i got...anyone with any experience or patterns???
  4. Banning random camping isn't the answer

amen...end of sermon in my books...i agree there should be regulations/fees/licensing but to ban is ridiculous...i'd gladly pay a couple hundred a year for a year's worth of random camping...sadly, people think that banning RC will stop all the abuse...not likely...

  5. personally, i hope that your meeting to have all random camping banned fails...i don't want to lose my canadian right to enjoy crown land as a result of a minority population that abuse the right...rather than trying to ban it, why not try to get more enforcement/licensing into effect...my two cents...
  6. after all the duking out the competitors did, it came down to two great patterns...after all the dust had settled, one pattern stood up above the other...congratulations to the 2008 King Of The Vise Champion : clyde ...to the victor goes the spoils...i will be in touch shortly...enjoy the prizes my friend...thanks again to all the tiers that made this possible and to entertain the masses throughout the winter...see you in the next tying season...
  7. well, this is it boys and girls...the last poll you have to see until the fall...it's been an awesome year and i want to thank everyone who has voted, participated, and contributed comments throughout the course of the winter...now we get to focus on the fishing of these patterns...so without further ado, the final round of the 2008 King Of The Vise...voting for this round should be based on the requirements set forth : use of the two materials (which both did), realism (which both did), and creativity (which both did)...so have fun trying to choose a winner between these two... :)
