  1. The AB government has the right to not do an EIA through Section 92(A), however, the Federal Government could be compelled to do so through a lawsuit under Section 91(10) and 91(12). I don't know a thing about Law, so i would assume that someone would have to bring this forward to the Federal level before any notice would be taken.

It's been done before regarding Forestry, (Friends of the West Country vs Canada, 1999).

So really you just need an NGO to step up and take it somewhere, such as TU. Does Friends of the Oldman River still exist?

TU won't push it...there busy with alternate agendas...when i was a member i recall talking about this area for years and they're more concerned about trophy lake management...if the "higher up members" had gotten off their high horse to defend the castle 2 years ago instead of pushing Police Lake, would we be in this position???

hence why i'm no longer a member...my angry 2 cents...

  2. I was just wondering if anyone has tried a fly called the Zoo Cougar (http://www.slideinn.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=35) in any Alberta waters, especially the Bow. It seems like a pretty neat sculpin imitation. Also, it is supposed to be fished with zero weight (other than a sinking line). Sounds interesting to me. Doesn't seem too difficult to tie either.

    Any thoughts...

all of galloup's creations are kickass in our waters for some reason...the zoo cougar is a great little pattern when used with a sink tip for all streams/lakes around here...dynamite dead drifted with a swing at the end on lower oldman so i would assume the same goes for the bow...

  3. SLOW DOWN BOY'S

Casting too much lead can break your rod, or maybe you getting hurt. I'v seen both happen, not great.Triploid you must have 4or5 buggers kicking around to show the the members, and myself.

    What times pinball/snacks GO!

what is wrong with you? <--poke--< ;mornCoffee:

  4. long term rough and tumble that you can actually fish with: TFO...bragging rights for casting a fancy, expensive top end rod that'll make you cry if you even scratch it: Sage...

as you can tell, i think sage is overrated...M2C...

  5. see the following links:

in a nutshell; cork is more "green" and durable but costs more and can be somewhat troublesome to install whereas laminate is more prone to scratches, dents and warping but costs less and is easier to install...spills on cork are the same as spills on any flooring (the longer it sits, the more damage is done)...hope this helps...

  6. Just to be clear...the mom cats and kittens don't make a mess but with kittens we can't use clumping litter so the other stuff is really dusty. We want the floor warm so lino on concrete while simple will make for a cold, cold floor. I am still thinking the laminate with underlay insulation R 3.8 should do the trick. Cost will be about $600 for room installed ourself...or $1000 is we get it installed. I am going to try and figure out how to do it myself and save the $$. Or so that is the current plan.

Is there anyplace that sell about 250 square feet of good quality...light wood color laminate cheap? Home Depot is fairly expensive and we don't need today's style. Just a light wood style/color.

instead of lino, to keep the floor warm and save yourself a buttload of money, go to any carpet store, pick out some of their leftover stock (usually $100-$300 for a 12'X12' piece) and some cheap underlay ($50-$100) and install carpet in the room...that way you can keep the floor warm...

the reason i'm trying to steer you away from laminate is that for a temporary flooring solution, it's kind of a waste of money if you're just going to be tearing up and tossing in the near future...

but if you're absolutely set on laminate, i'll check my shop and see if i have any extra stock kicking around that will fit your room size and save you some cash...PM me exact dimensions and i'll see what i can do...

  7. Well, laminate is not water resistant. with an hdf or mdf core the product will certainly show swelling along the seams in a short time. It is resonably priced though and would serve its purpose for a while then if not in good shape easily disposed.

I recently installed a glue down vinyl floor that has the appearance of a hardwood but is very durable. It was installed in a restaurant, so a commercial situation and it performing quite well.

Problem is I can't find the product any more. It comes in 3" wide strips 3' long. You can see if you could find that.

Other wise make sure what ever product you get is designed for below grade, cork , laminate, engineered etc...

    Hope this helps,

    Dave

linoleum or sheet vinyl- whatever they call it now plus some cheapo area rugs. Spraying shouldn't be a problem as long as the males are neutered in a timely fashion

As an aside- good on you for doing it!

    Regards Mike

as a floor covering installer, i'd agree with both of these statements...if you are just using the room for the cats for the time being, i would highly recommend linoleum...for bang for your buck, pick out some discount lino from a reputable dealer...make sure the floor is prepped properly before laying any floor covering to ensure a level surface and good adhesion if you prefer to go the lino/PVC/vinyl route...then, after the fostering is done, you can prep over top of the lino for a more permanent floor covering rather than ripping out...hope this helps...

  8. if you're going to be tying on jig hooks, i'd highly recommend the 1/8 oz. Matzuo sickle hook...it's the foundation of my Burla Bug's and i swear by them...they have ultra sharp points, they don't dull out, they're not heavy wire (easier on the fish), and they don't bend out with larger fish on (something about the sickle hook design)...
  9. I find that clicking the left button on your mouse after you have the pointer thingy on the little area at the bottom that says FULL SIZE IMAGE works well for me.

    Your welcome. :P

    Nice fly BTW.

Check your wife's purse. Maybe she has your EYEballs in there, too... :angel:smail:

what i MEANT to say is why post the small pic with a link to a full size...why not just post the big one instead...lol...you guys are wieners... :drinked:

  10. THINKIN OF THE DAY

OK 42 second is way to long,24 sounds to be right.

    300yards @ 5 mph =300 / 5 mph = 24 second

    mathematician HELP maybe.

PS how fast do trout swim with a hook in them?

    flyfishy lived the monster

back to my original statement...if you are counting seconds or even estimating seconds after hooking up with a big fish then there's something wrong with you...
