i just slip an O-ring on and then the hook after everything's all tied off...
as for streamers...whatever variables that seem to be working on that day dictates my pattern but one can't go wrong with and olive bunny bug or a tan woolly sculpin...
I've been curious about this. In making these types of flies without the shanks what is the best way to attach the dropper hook? I was thinking to put the dropper hook on some heavy mono and then to lash it with tying thread to the shank of the cut off streamer hook, maybe use some super glue for good measure. -

You're over reacting. As I pointed out to taco, I think everyone needs to enjoy the sport. If you're within the limits of the law, have at it. Obviously it does not mean I have to like what you do if you opt to kill a record sized fish. Life's funny that way eh? At the end of the day, this is fishing. Just fishing. It's not where I set my moral compass although I am a strong advocate of sustainable fisheries. As for you starting to hate the site, are you sure your reactions (like that above) are not adding to it sucking just a little more every day?

Killing something as awesome as either of those fish simply because they could, sickens me a little.
and what about those who hunt for racks??? if it is legal, then what is the damn problem with keeping it??? starting to hate this site more and more everyday with all the holier than thou attitudes...

i'm going random camping for my holidays for two weeks starting tomorrow and anybody who wants to steal my stuff or have me towed is in for an ass whooping...and if anyone wants to enjoy some brews and fishing with me, they are welcome and, of course, anyone that wants to come see how a RESPONSIBLE random camper acts is welcome as well...

my 2 cents...don't use improved clinch knots as they have a tendency to slip with fluoro...i like to use a non-slip loop knot on the flies and a regular clinch when attaching dropper flies off the bend of point flies...good luck...

someone put another :$*%&: quarter in the merry go round...i thought these threads only popped up in shack nasty season...and sean, being that you are new to this site, you should know that we all get along here whether we bicker or not...you want to call people names because you're opinions are being breached upon, then take it out to the playground where the rest of the childish games are being played...clive's got alot of respect in the fly fishing community and he earned it...god forbid he has an opinion and defends it and then defends himself when being publicly bashed...now with that said, i think it's miller time...
