    hehe i wish, they take me about half an hour right now but i have only tied 2 (of this type) so far.

     

    Any suggestions on doing the tail with out a hook? I find when i tie it to a hook or wire and cut it off it leaves a sharp point that i think will deter the fish if it gets a good scratch with that first.

     

     

    maybe braiding barred olive rubber legs or olive stretch floss???

    does this not just make the problem even worse for our backcountry?...you close down the established spots that are run to the ground and what are the troublesome squatters (not the responsible random campers mind you) going to do?... MAKE MORE SPOTS BY DEGRADING MORE FORESTRY...ya...great idea dumbasses...rather than wasting money putting these plans into effect, how about reallocating the funds to HIRE MORE ENFORCEMENT...dammit this issue ticks me off...

     

    on a side note, i am a proud and responsible random camper and i hate seeing my daughter's opportunity to enjoy the backcountry, like i did when i was a kid, being flushed down the toilet by irresponsible douches that wreck it for everyone...(i.e.. mclean creek massacre, castle river homesteading, and oldman river squatting grounds)... :curse:

    i would highly recommend brian's lessons...he's just that damn good...had the privilege of casting with him at the CWFFC conlave this weekend and if he can convince me (a stubborn ass single hander) to get set up with a switch rod and join the dark side, he must be doing something right...

    looks really good bud...just one suggestion if you plan on fishing that pattern : leave more of the wire to penetrate the fish's mouth so that it's not just hooked by the tip of the hook point (you'll lose a lot more fish if you take away that extra space after the barb)...aside from that, it looks very slick...good job...

    to all that complain about the shows or didn't like them:

     

    ...please remember that NO ONE is perfect and hindsight is 20/20...i'm sure the editors didn't mention the lake intentionally (after all, like nick said, they are still in the beginning stages)...also keep in mind what Fly Max advertises at the very beginning "a new generation of fishing ENTERTAINMENT", not INSTRUCTION...my 2 cents...

    sorry wes...she now has a new home under a sheltered south facing burrow by Whoop Up Drive...hopefully she'll make it through till spring...she seemed to take a liking to the one log branch sticking out of the ground...

    found and collected a large, mature black widow female outside my shop today and was wondering if anyone knows anybody that would like this specimen for research (i.e.. wildlife biologists, U of L, U of C, Mount Royal, LCC, etc..) before I let her go in the coulees...
