  1. I think it isn't a very good idea to post this thread here. Are you aware that anyone can read this section without being logged in? Which means anyone that stumbles across this site can see it. This is just an invitation to have something happen. You have given potential thieves a when and where to make a score.

really? you think that the lowlife scum who break into vehicles for the drug money or opportunity are on the web?? If they have that kind of initiative, they are into B&E's.

Not saying that you shouldn't be careful parking, just that posting that question here is not in any way bad judgement

  2. That's reassuring atleast if they are able to last. Also considering just getting the Simm Vibram soles and adding in there star studs if they can last long enough to justify the cost. Kinda where the Kold Kutters come in. 0.10 to replace them but they have a huge profile!

That's the beauty of the Korkers is can pop up the soles. But I'm also worried they're too thin to fit the studs into. Might be time for some new boots in the end.

These look like something forest gump would wear! But again if they last and do a good job, I'd get em

I put the simms studds into my old style Korkers last year. So far so good. they portrude about an 1/8" through the plastic, but the underlying bed of the shoe itself seems to mold to the protrusion without damage.

I tried the hardware store screws - not good - they lasted about 4 trips - and were finished with a walk in FCP on the pavement. However, because they were soft, I could grind down sp they did not protrude. The simms were almost impossible to grind down (using a power grinder too) so I decided to give it a try without.

  3. Pokerfish what is that material you are using for the caddis wing... good looking flies dude!

Rainy's 0.5 mm cross link foam. looks good, but it is a might fragile. I don't think it would handle more than one fish. So I am still looking for ideas there. And thanks for the kind words.

  4. I was looking for a replacement for snowshoe hare foot, and wondered if raw wool might do it (for some dry caddis patterns). If you are tying with it, how is it used. I have a couple of clumps from a farming friend, but it is uncarded. Looks like it may have potential. Looking for some help, so I dont have to climb the learning curve alone.

    Thanks

  6. possibly the best non fishing video I have seen.

Here is the intro that came with the link

    Must view on full screen.

What a ride! What a driver!!! You’d have to wear Depends to ride with this guy!

    Betcha can't watch just once.

It sounds like the little car is running bad.....one reason it sounds like it is cutting out is because the rev limiter keeps the R.P.M.. from going too high and blowing the motor........the other popping sound is the wastegate on the turbo.

Also note at the very end, the sparks coming from the rear wheel rims as the tires burn down ..
