Thanks alot Mike I was quite content to walk past any rack of rods over 200$ before you let me play with your Z. All the places I phoned in calgary where pretty much the same price for the 4 piece at 830$
After my gear got stolen last winter I'd bought 3 sage launch' and an z-axiz when the dollar was par and prior to the sage price hike..........33% on the launch.....and 25% on the z-axiz...........seems that it was my best investment of the last 2 plus years...........................maybe I should of bought the whole rack............I'll have to spin that to the misses.

May 22 will be 10 years working for me, I'm on my 22nd job (contract) been laid off twice, longest break between gigs has been a weekend.
Never been one to go down with the ship, the "the patch - NL, TX & AB" has been good to me.

Can't tell you where to fish but I can offer some advise on the kiddy part.
Do not bring a rod for yourself. I usually take my two boys(5 & 3) and I only bring one rod between them, after many fustrating outings trying to manage both of them with rods 2 to 3 times as long as they are I learned my lesson. Doesn't help if they seen star wars recently and break out in a light saber duel with two $500 rods either.
And what ever you do, don't forget the snacks lots of them.

I was gonna get an extra tip for ZA 10 for an 8 but at 175 US my launch will have to be my back up and the warranty will have to do.

all those NHLer's must be shooting the puck from there wrong side too..............image how good they would be if they just did it the right way

Forgot to say, check your policy. On my policy after damages exceed $10000 the deductable is waived, funny how the insurance company didn't voluinteer that info.
-
So I raised hell with the management company that it's absolutely ridiculous that the upstairs tenants caused the accident, but OUR insurance has to pay for it.
Thats what happened when my rental property (duplex) had a sewage blow out. Myside blew out causing damage to the ajoining home, all damages to the ajoining home were cover by their insurance who inturn sued my insurance who inturn raised my insurance premiums. The kicker is the other property owners had a insurance preimum hike too due to the claim. In the end insurance companies won, and we got the poop cleaned up.
Just like property stolen from vechiles coved by your home owners policy. one claim to the auto policy for damage to the vechile, one claim to the home owners policy for the thief and two rate increases due to double claim for one break-in.

Nothing puts the trout down like an otter or two. Be thankful you don't have seals working their way up the rivers.................they may go up but they don't come down.............
-
Most trout water i fish is small to tiny, and on the big water I usually fish the pockets cus everyone else (elbow to elbow), camps in the well defined water. Tryed a indy once, didn't like it, don't use them.

Oddly, the worse the economy gets the safer my job becomes. I just went through the fear and uncertainty that lots of you are feeling now. It's a strange thing to say, but I just survived the economic boom and I feel safe now buying new gear and doing more trips out of town. It'll be a great season for me
Repo man??????????????

Don't see the "Recession" effecting my fishing and my gear buyin', currently eyein' a 12'6 6wt Z-Axis, planning to pull the trigger on that prior to June 1. Got rid of my truck thou and picked up a seasoned Outback that should help cart me from river to river in search of Atlantics a little cheaper.
Was tryin to get a trip to AB this fall, don't think that will happen, but I wasn't really expecting it to.
I am cutting back in other places, just not the fishing.

I'm only buying orvis and islander reels from now on.
Why............you won't get to use them..........new baby means no fishing............two mean minivan............but you need not worry right now................due to your upcoming 6-9 months of forced abstinence .

1. See Dad land his first Salmon and maybe hook a few more myself.
2. Fish with my boys more this year.
3. A big fresh October brown, thick water would help.

Not a green machine althou it sure looks like, I'm sure the patteren was based on it...........this one is called Myron's Glittler Bug.............with a substitute of UV Ice dub instead of some sparkly chenille, that I couldn't find. These are size 8..............but I'm tying those up from sizes 6 thru 10..and maybe a few 12's.
