  1. Huh I have a pic exactly like that one from a ruffie. Watched him land, decided he didn't like me, walked a few steps and took off again. The mark where he landed is almost exactly the same as your takeoff. Cool

  2. That's your opinion, and you can have it. I find it akin to yanking salmon or steelhead off the reds. The fish aren't spawning yet, but they're saving up their energy in prep for it. Like I said, it takes next to nothing in the skill department to aggravate a big bull that is in pre-spawn mode. If you're only successful at that time of the year, it's probably time to re-evaluate your fly fishing technique. Tako out

  3. I've never targeted them but I could imagine they would be in the river. Afterall, Smoke Lake is pretty close by. I've only ever caught grayling and bulls out of the Little Smoky. I mostly fish it around Fox Creek because of the family friend that I like to pop in and see when I'm up there. I would like to head further up this year so if you know of some spots I don't (and you get that job in the Park) then we should definitely go.

    I know some spots ;)

  4. beautiful river, worth the trip. But do your research...really easy to get lost on the trip in, finding an access point, going up stream, going down stream, falling in and going down stream, on the way out, etc.

Don't go by yourself. Did that once and swore I'd never do it again.

I've heard that as well. It sounds stupid, but all the mountains down there look the same when you're in em
