  1. When your beside a guy, both going at a high rate of speed towards the boards and you reach to poke the puck, you have put yourself in a vulnurable position, imo. I do agree with you (and i am sure 90+% of hockey fans) on the stupidity of the icing rule.
  2. I don't think that hit was a phantom call - borderline, yes, but the ref didn't pull this out of his ass. Kopitar was thrown into the boards violently from a hit a few feet off the boards. Boarding is usually not an intent to injure but a regular body check on a player in a vulnerable area in respect to the boards. Definitely sucks at this level of hockey when a guy gets ejected for this kind of play though. In my opinion just as much fault lies on the guy who got hit for putting himself in a vulnerable position, but those are the rules i guess
  3. Thanks Headscan. It's a Sony DSC-H20. First camera I have had control over ISO, aperture, and shutter speed so there will definitely be a learning curve.
  4. Awesome ties guys. Love seeing all the patterns Was playing with a new camera from xmas on a #16 weevil. Shots are far more detailed than with the old camera but i think more practice is needed with the settings.
  5. Can't expect to win a game scoring only 1 goal
  6. looks good man. Gotta love peg board eh... so handy
  7. Ya don't sync. I restored my itunes through my older style ipod quite easily but it seems like you may need to 'jailbreak' it or a software dl might be required to help with the touch. Hopefully someone else has experience with restoring through the touch or iphone.
  8. I've had the iphone for about a year and half. Basically the same thing as the touch just with phone capabilities. Really easy to use and navigate and a fully developed app store (most are free apps). i can't think of any real complaints that i would have against it. As far as hard drive size - it would depend on if you planned on storing movies. I have the 16gb iphone and have music and some movie/podcasts and i find it's just enough. Can't go wrong with the touch imho
  9. Brain injuries weren't fun in hockey so I assume just as little fun on the slopes..... I will definitely be renting a helmet first and looking to buy one. As far as the goggles I have a sportchek gift card from work kicking around for a year and a half... hopefully not expired. so I will probably look there first. Polarized sounds sick, i love my polarized shades.
  10. Thanks guys. Makes sense to pick up something with quality..... fogging would suck. I'll have a look at the 'a frames'. Any suggestions to tints?
  11. Getting into snowboarding a bit this year and thinking goggles would be fairly helpful. What do you guys recommend for quality and tints? Can I go cheap with these or will I be wasting my time?
  12. Sad and pathetic. I hope this guy is on this board to see how embarrassed he should be of himself. I'm sure your little guy will come around to fishing again
  13. These guys plan to be arrested by transit police while taping. Looks like they need a better hobby Click here if the movie does not play.
  14. Ya i can relate to this. We live next door to our landlord, been here for over a year, have been great tenants (I think) and posed the question on them for a small dog. They gave us the same run around about raising rent to cover possible damages plus a few more stipulations (wanting to meet the dog before we get it, ensuring it stays inside unless we supervise and such, stay in it's crate if were out). So why can't this be a damage deposit? Why not just come out and say we will need more per month for the hastle or what ever? Your right midge I hate people thinking I'm stupid.
  15. Fast shipping too. and as uber said great guy to deal with.
  16. I was wanting the rubber soles when i was skiing on frost covered grass this morning, i don't know how the ass of my waders are still intact.
  17. The guys at troutfitters let me give a norbobbin a test run. I liked it - taking into account there would be some breaking in period to work out the little glitches and get comfortable with it, seems like the best bang for the buck and have heard good things about warranty and service when dealing with them. So once the cold stuff really hits i think i'll be tying with a nor bobbin. Thanks for all the advice and recommendations. And thanks to the guys for troutfitters for letting me give er a whirl.
  18. Haha sounds like what i need. I'll have a look at some patches too bvader. I think the leaks are my fault because i'd store them hanging with the gravel guards pulled all the way up and those are the only seams that leak. Sorry for the high jack leachman, maybe if for some reason you can't get that warranty these guy's tips will help ya. Highjack over
  19. Thanks uberfly and maxwell. I've tried the uv stuff and it worked good for about half a day than the dam broke and two wet feet for the second half of the day. I think I saw aquaseal at troutfitters the other day, i'll give it a shot
  20. I also think calling the icing the same way would be to much of a judgment call. There are times when a player obviously turns and ices the puck intentionally and other times when a pass is missed on a break out which should not be penalized. Weather it clears the glass without touching it makes it a clear call. Before this rule it was an easy way out, so i'm all for it
  21. I'm riunning into a bunch of seam issues with mine after a few months, what do you find works best? uv wader stuff?
  22. Hit the bench last night to whip up something to start this off. Nothing to crazy here just playing with two colors I like in buggers. Woolly woven bugger. Recipe Thread: Red 6/0 Tail: Black and Olive Marabou Body: Woven black and olive chenille Hackle: Black and olive saddle Rid: 4x mono Gills / blood: Red saddle hackle Flash: Pearl Flashabou Field tested this afternoon, nothing to the net but felt a short strike..... I think
  23. Great ties Dejan, Welcome to the board man
  24. Thanks for all the input. Well, it seems like it is going to be handy to tie with for sure.... am I on the inevitable road to a nor-vise now? I guess my next decision will be which one. Leaning towards the nor-bobbin for what seems like ease of use and a fair bit less than the Ekich, however, the rite bobbin seems awfully cheap at around $20 on a few sites - might be a good way to try them out. I know I have seen the nor-bobbins at a few fly shops, do any carry the Ekich or Rite bobbins?
  25. Currently I am tying on a non-rotary vise and I am currious if an automatic bobbin would be a good idea. I could see these really cutting down tying time on some of those flys that require resting the bobbin a few times. Obviously the price is steep for a bobbin but maybe it is well worth it Just wondering what the experienced automatic bobbin users think of it and recommend?
