Bowbiker Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 For the fisherman who are interested in Spey, I would suggest that you start learning the different Spey Casts on your single hander. Hey Toolman, I have a Dan Craft ninefootsix sixweight that I built last fall and I want to start learning the different Spey Casts. How do I rig it up and where do I start. I am going to see Wayne at Fish Tales to-morrow(Friday) and he says he will let me try to cast one of their demo Spey Rods. Sounds like this will be a big learning curve. toolman Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 Hi Dick, There are good video's that are available to start learning the basic single hand spey casts. A regular WF line should be fine on the DC rod. For the demo Spey rod, ask to try the TFO Deer Creek 12'6" 5/6wt. They can set it up with an Airflow Delta Spey line and reel. You could contact DanJ (Dan Jackson) for some single hand casting instruction. Also, Speyghille is giving another Spey school in September and it would be a good opportunity to learn on a two hander.
