LlamaLeach Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I was reading the regulations for the canada national parks act, wich states " it is unlawfull to fish with a line capable of catching more than one fish at one time" does this mean you cannot fish with a hopper dropper? Quote
birchy Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 In the National Parks maybe? Most other places in Alberta - no. Quote
bhurt Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Pick up a copy of the regs from any of the local fly shops and take a look in it, it should state everything in it, also carry it along with you incase a C.O stops you so you can show him. Quote
theiceman2 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I carry enough junk in my vest, hopefully the CO's know the regs. Quote

Gil Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Good to know. I thought I knew the regs pretty well, but the single fly in a National Park was news to me. I was aware about the no lead rule... Quote
fishfreak Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I never knew about the single fly thing in NP's either. Thanks for bringing that up. I do fish in Waterton every once in a while Quote

I do fish in Waterton every once in a while Ya single fly rule in the parks. Use caution on the lead part. You cant even have it in possession. Had the wand out .*hit most of my streamers were lead weighted. If you even have lead weighted flies you can be fined. Did the holly *hit puzzled look and got a warning. Quote
fishfreak Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 For anyone wanting to take a look at the regs for national parks, here's a link: http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/ab/Waterton/visit/visit14a_e.asp Quote
